Time is elusive, so don't waste it

It started this morning, I got up early as the sun is in full bloom by 5.30 ( summer in Australia) so I had pleny of time to do all I wanted.

The funny thing about time is that You think you can control it but no, it has its own way.

Because I was not in a rush I did those few extra bits and dilly dalied around until I was again running late.
Now I had to be in my normal hussel to meet some deadlines that don't move.

I work better under pressure, get it done and no messing around makes an hour into half that time.

But one thing I did this morning was take a bit more time with my emails and read one from Jan Pedrew
about story telling.
This has become a critical element in todays blogs, showing you're different to AI and pulling the readers in.
Everyone loves a good story and it keeps those eyes on your page and builds that trust bond we all want.

You can look for stories everywhere and as long as you spin them a bit you will get attention and that will win you a touch of Google love.

So take the time to add a good story to what ever marketing you are doing and see the difference.

Now I know many of you will be agast at a 5.30 am start but It really extends the day.
Start with a few exercises before reviewing my emails and daily stats and making a cup of tea for my wife and watching the news.
A quick breakfast and the off to the beach for a dip in the ocean, cup of coffee with the swimmers and home to tidy up before some Baby sitting duties.
At my desk at 8.30 ready for a big day ahead.

Did I keep you until the end of the page? Mission accomplished

Remember stories count, they are the new In thing in all marketing.

I must admit.

I skipped (scrolled) ahead to “save time”.🤪

Haha but you got there.

Up so early with such an early sun and a nice cup of tea ! A story can't be better than this.

An impressive bit of writing there Peter. I love your story and your writing style.

It's rare that a post catches my eye and draws me in so quickly. I was in a rush to get back to the core training at WA and happened to pass through the homepage and the title of story stopped me in my tracts. It immediately Stole My Attention. I felt compelled to read the entire post, and I'm glad I took the time to do so. Your post is relevant, timely, and insightful. Furthermore, I agree with your observations; I've experienced similar in my own life. Also, I'm rarely impressed with AI writing, but it sure dose save us a lot of our precious time that could be put to better use elsewhere.

It's true. I failed at English in grade school and was sent a special 1-1 reading class with this creepy old lady who sat across from me. We both sat in tiny chairs in a tiny room about the size of a large closet. Come to think of it, it was a closet!!

As a Freshmen in high school, my test scores landed me in "bone-head" English class with Mr. Crow. Unwittingly, completing his class changed the entire trajectory of my future. To my surprise, I was no longer a bone-head. It was one of those unexpected pivotal moments it life that only come alone once every so often.

By the time I became a Senior, I was in the Honors English Class with Mrs. Philips (one of my classmates mother). She had us journal for the first 10 minutes of class each day. We could write about anything at all. She never asked to read it. It was our own private journal.

I'll never forget one of her writing assignments. After journaling, she would put a title on the chalkboard for us to complete an essay and gave us typically 30-35 minutes to complete our essays and turn them in before the end of class. It was always challenging and I came out of her class feeling mentally exhausted.

The one Essay Assignment that stuck with me for life was ... "No Man Is An Island". It has haunted me for life. It too, is like a reoccurring dream, but my conclusions keep changing each time; like shifting sand.

By college, I studied the "Pros" in English Writing class. So I can truly appreciate fine writing writing, such as yours, when I spot it.

To the point. One-thing's fur-shur, time is a sneaky bastard! It steels from us constantly. It always gets away with it and it never gets caught nor is it ever held accountable.

Time is just as sneaky here in Seattle as it is in Australia.

I have recently come to conclude that our Attention is the most valuable thing; I mean, what we give our attention too, that is. Everybody wants a piece of it. All the time. It's hypnotic. We've all fallen for it. And whenever we get sucked-in, it's like falling into a time warp backwards. You know what I mean? It's like being stuck in a recursive dream.

One of the finest things I've recently learned to do with my Time is to do my best to accomplish my top 1-3 Priorities each day; accept for the Sabbath (The Lords Holy Day of Rest). I learned this by observing the habits of most productive (and successful) people in life. Although, they way that I learned it was to accomplish your top 3-5 Priorities of the day. Personally, I don't have that kind of stamina anymore and have learned to just relax and pace myself. Somehow, things always have a way of working themselves out, even if I do nothing at all. Patience has bean a great teacher. ;-)

Now that I've put this new philosophy to the test, I usually achieve getting my top 3 priorities accomplished each day and it has made all the difference in the world!

To your success!

Thanks Douglas, yes I also practice the priorities, or things I must do v the things I should do v the things I want to do.
Making the most of time is a learned experience and the more we learn the better we get.
Enjoy your day in Seattle, I believe a loverly city
