Ideas On Direction?

So I have been here around 3 weeks now. I just checked some of my pages and post through google and only one I found on 4th page of google. I did not purchase my own domain yet for one thing. So I am to the point in the training of choosen affiliate programs for my site.
Question 1= Will buying my own domain increase my ranking and traffic?
Question 2=I read alot of the affiliate programs want your site to have alot of traffic before you even enter business with them so how do I handle this when I do not have the traffic?
Last Question=My website is built around pellet stoves so if anyone has any ideas for affiliate programs I am all ears and yes I did the training pellet stove+affiliate programs and there is slim pickings?
