I have been naughty

And not helping myself at the same time.

I have really been ignoring social media bcause I find it such a bore - I would much rather improve the writing on my websites content or tinker with plugin settings.

But I think I got at least something right today - google likes google+ so the no1 thing is to share your stuff there. I also made a weak attempt at tumblr, pinterest and stumbleupon. There too many of them now! I saw a guy on the bus this morning reading on his phone from buzzfeed! How to get on there?

I had fallen way behind on all my google+ shares and links etc., SO I spent most of the afternoon doing that so far.

I hope this helps me and reminds you guys not to fall back on stuff like that.

Probably best to have some kind of list to go through after you have posted (which I obviously don't have).

Your friend.

Glyn

I think Google+ is great, I have many of my articles on my hubby's sites on Google, Page 1 and it really helps in yr website'a ranking and the articles are so easy to rank. :). I am like you, don't really like social media promotion but I may try twitter which is easy and seems manageable. :). Thanks so much for sharing, dear Glyn. :)

I share my articles in relevant groups. But I act also on some other relevant items in the same groups.
I think social media is an important part of writing articles and creating websites

It's hard to keep up with all of them unless you subscribe to a service to do it for you, which is expensive.

Very true I think, Glyn

I don't think you are on your pat malone there, we all fall into that trap, have a great weekend cheers Helen

I find it is very hard to do all you want and need to do all the best

I have tended to concentrate on content for my website and also forgot about social media. My son yesterday asked why didn't I use them and also gave me some I had never heard of.

Glyn, there is so much to do and not always enough time to do it all. A balance between content and social media must be found. I think your idea of the list is a good one... make the boring actions second nature habits with automatic repetition.

Glyn--Check out and join a few of the Google+ communities that interest you. Or, is that what you are referring to by "Google likes"--Anyway, if so, I totally agree. That's what I've done and have made some great contacts that way. You can post all of your blogs in the communities that you join and also check out the competition. I have also had people join my mailing lists through these communities. Take care!

Thanks MarineMom - I'm not even in that kind of league yet but will put it on my list. Glyn
