Air travel for some people like me it is a pleasure that I look forward to. And I must say that I have done some travelling around the globe.
However for some people, the story is different, meaning that they are Air-Scared, if there something so called! I reckon that it is a matter of lack of the knowledge of the technological safety back up built into the aircraft. As a person who has been involved in the technical side of the air travel business, I feel very reassured to take a flight any day.
While I do understand the apprehension of those who do not feel so safe, I believe that a little enlightenment as to what makes up the fly machine will help to develop some sense of safety and hence remove the basic source of concern.
I often joking shared with people that I feel safer in the air than on the road unless i am the driver. Well you may have a different view that is why we are all different as individuals, however when you know the back ups and redundancies built into the aircraft, then you would start to think differently..
Air travel has the advantages of being fast, comfortable and much safer than other means of transportation. The comfort and safety aspect are s taken very seriously and even regulations require that certain criteria must be met.
Right from the design stage, the concept of design take into account, safety and comfort by ensuring a comfortable temperature regulation. Safe and comfortable pressure in the cabin. All systems in the aircraft have more than one means of functioning; this guarantees that in the event of failure of one system, there is another means of accomplishing the same function.
The personnel that carry out the various functions of operation are licensed to perform their roles and must under continuous trainings to keep abreast of the latest information and methods. The regulatory framework is immense and still increasing.
