Amazon Associates program
Today I spent sometime at Amazon. I found several products that I thought would be great for my website. But to my surprise when I was a ways through the signing up process, I received a message that I did not qualify because the program is not available in Vermont. I don't understand why this is so. Does anyone know?

Hey Gloria, that must have been irritating to research like that and then it turns out you can't even use Amazon,
These videos might help you find good affiliate programs. I know you will find something as you are very creative. Relevant Affiliate Programs are Everywhere How to Find Relevant Affiliate Programs Finding Awesome Affiliate Programs
Thanks Evelyn,
I am okay with affiliate programs. I was just surprised about Vermont. But oh well , it's just the way it is.
It is because of Vermont's tax law that the Amazon Associates program was cancelled. Here is more information on it:
http://www.burlingtonfreepress.com/story/money/2015/01/07/amazon-ends-vermont-affiliate-program/21405205/
However, there are many other affiliate programs besides Amazon. You can look up others by typing your niche + affiliate program into Google's search bar. I'm thinking you will find a lot of others to choose from. :)
Sorry there is not better news on this. Vermont is one of a handful of states that have been banned. It's the pits.
I know, but I guess it just means that I have to be more creative. Hopefully I can find that same books elsewhere.

That was frustrating I'm sure. Amazon had to initiate the same action out here in California a few years back. They lost a large number of Affiliates as a result. So Amazon set up two large distribution centers in Southern CA and Northern CA to solve the problem.
You might check into their plans in Vermont. I would not be surprised if they have plans to have a distribution center in every state. They (Amazon) are becoming such a force on the internet I think it's only a matter of time, and distribution is their strength.
Hi Dennis,
This is good to know. Thanks for the info.
