Pages and Post and Key Words...oh my!

Trying to wrap my brain around this.

1. I have a website.

2. I have pages on that website

3. I have content on those pages

4. Should all of my content be in the form of posts on those pages? As I would like to write different articles on these same topics.

5. Key words! Do I include them in the content (seems like an obvious yes). If so, how many should I use? And do I fill out the SEO key words in wordpress for the home page only, and how many should I use for the home page.

6. Can I keep my home page static, or should I be adding new content and posts and articles there???

Brain overload!!! LOL

Great questions! Thanks for sharing.

These guys have said it all!

I do think it is a good practice to fill in these items for very post/page your create (I think this is covered in an early lesson)
SEO Title; SEO Description; SEO Keywords

I meant to type every instead of very.....

I'll take a shot at this. I'm still pretty new at it, but I had some of these questions.

(1) Yes, you have a website! :)

(2) Yes, you can have pages on that website.

(3) Yes, you can have content on those pages.

(4) Should all your content be posts on the pages you've set up? That's up to you. I use a blog roll so my latest post goes on my front page. I have a menu set up for the top buttons so I can make drop-down menus of the articles. That means my articles are listed twice: Once on the blog roll and then they appear in the proper category across the top.

The difference being when you write a post, it goes to your home page if not set up as static. When you do a page, you create the page and then you create the post ON that page, i.e. in the editor screen after you select the page you want.

(5) Keywords. Recommended is once in your title, once in your first paragraph, once in the body of content, preferably near the end. That's for about 500 words or so. If you have a really long article, put another instance of the keyword or string somewhere in the middle.

(6) Static page or blog roll? That's entirely up to you. I don't use a static home page but many do. If you want your readers to see standard information every time they visit, you may want to do a static.

If this is clear as mud, hit me back and I'll try again, K?

Carla. Thankyou so much for sharing that. I was just trying to ask Kyle the same question on Key words and you cleared it up. Next I have my first 5 pages on my website (about me, getting started and 3 theme pages. My next task is to write a review on WA Do I do this as a post a log or a new page. Thankyou for your input
