Analytics question again.help please

So I saw this correct, to eliminate spam and crawlers bots giving me false readings on Analytics, I only require my own domain name to be in the newly created hostname filter ?

Thereby only genuine searching folks will be recorded, have I got this right because right now I have zero hits and I am concerned I have shut out everyone! Unless I genuinely have no hits, which is worrying to say the least.

I have only had this filter running for a day though, perhaps I need to give it more time.

But I had to stop secret.google.com vote for Trump and o-0-8-0-0.com spam hitting me up, the only thing was though that site domain for both of thes didn't appear in the list, it was under 'not set', so I eliminated all of that too.

Would one of you experts please reassure me that this is correct what I have done regarding the filtering?

Have a great Monday

Craig

Hi Craig, I had the same problem recently and it was because I was using the Yoast SEO plug in and once I deactivated it it was ok. Xx

Run this program .. I run it every 2 days or so .. and it filters out all the bots.. or most of them anyway

Keep your analytics open .. and open this link in a new window,,, its all automatic!

Thanks Chris, but should i revert my analytics to where it was before adding the filter. Its the filter i am worried about as far as it might not be now recording true hits
