Kids Carnival 2017
June 3 this year we had the best turn out we have ever had at the Kids Carnival, over 600 people. The weekend started out with a BBQ at the Shop Easy Parking lot at 11:30 to 1:30. A great turn out. Then the Biggar School of Dance Cabaret @ 7-9 p.m. Next was a Movie,"Diary of a Wimpy Kid", at the Majestic Theater. Yes! we still have a theater here in Biggar with several live performances every year. Then at dusk we had the biggest fireworks we have ever had In Biggar, fantastic.
June the 3'd started out with Breakfast at the Museum, then a very great and long parade for a small town of 2600 people. From the parade some people ate at several places downtown but most people went over to 3'd Avenue Park for several hours of FREE fun for the Kids. We had a Petting Zoo provided by The Credit Union , Pony rides for kids,and Peddle Cars for teens and pre teens provided by Ranger Lake Bible Camp. Many door prizes to giveaway provided by the local merchants. Bottles of water provided by Parmasave. The RM provided Dixie Cups. The $ Store & E-Kay provided Canada 150 Year Helium Balloons for the little kids. E-Kay provided Coffee & Doughnuts.
Our Church The Biggar Associated Gospel Church provided a Bouncy Castle, a Fish Pond, Face Painting, Popcorn, & a movie, "The Jesus Film for Kids". Our Church sold Hot dogs, Hamburgers and Pop. Everything else was free. From the profit of the sales we are able to send 10 to 15 kids to Camp depending on the age of the kids.
Later that day Kids had a free swim and a water slide.
On Sunday there was a Interdenominational Church Service in the Majestic Theater, a Pancake brunch and a Show & Shine "Car, Tractor & Motorcycle" show with proceeds going to Research for Prostate Cancer.
This is our annual celebration and this was the best ever.
