Starting to feel real

Last night was a full 2 weeks as Premium WA. I found that posting last week helped keep me motivated for this week, so I thought I'd post about week2. I had a lot of things go right and I noticed I've hit that point where it starts to "feel real."

Most important lesson learned was that there's always a few hundred new things to learn!

I ended up working for 2 hours on something that one of my plugins already did. -- Hard lesson learned there about reading the documentation for each plugin and doing a simple google search before rushing into something.

On the other side, 6 posts are up and indexed along with 8 pages. Google recognizes all 14 as fully mobile ready (after a bit of tweaking) and 8 total posts/pages have fully AMP recognized SCHEMA.

Thinned out some plugins and re-wrote a bit of CSS to make the site leaner. Google's recommended speed test is giving me a 94/100 with 13 plugins installed! I'm sure I can trim that down by moving more code into the footer and rewriting some scripts. Just been too busy getting content up to mess with something that delicate.

Most important, the business part is coming along strong. I have been approved for 4 affiliate programs (counting WA). Pages are showing up in Google and Bing Searches (although pretty far from page 1). And I am getting my first organic traffic and affiliate clicks.

All that to say, it feels like it's just a matter of time until the clicks start converting.

For those wondering, it's been 2 weeks but I've probably put in about 125-150 hours so far. But it's so worth it.
