You don't get to choose your parents!
I spent my career in education/coaching and in that respect, I got to see almost every kind of student....all with different backgrounds.
We had pure trash, poor and don't care, poor but with good ethics, hard-working middle class, wealthy with good ethics, and wealthy entitled.
The ones I most admired came from the lower classes. Their were those who tried to play the "card", whatever that might be and would end up just like their parents. I taught and coached many who rose above that moniker and sought to separate themselves from that negative overtone. They learned that they could succeed by listening, learning, having manners, and by asking for help when needed.
I had several who never dug out of that hole. Then I had those who turned their nose up at those peers and teachers who thought they would never succeed just because of their upbringing.
Each of you can probably remember those you went to school with who fit in each of those situations mentioned above. We more than likely have those here who fit into one of those categories.
You have worked hard, gained confidence, and succeeded on your own. Even at that we probably have members who are afraid of failing, and give up. Their are others who won't use "quit" as an option and will attain your goals if it takes months, or even years to reach your goals....NO MATTER WHO YOUR PARENTS WERE!
Have a great day here in WAland.
