Well, I have gotten to the point where I want to choose a niche. I am thinking of following these steps.

1) Identify the audience.

2) Research market key words.

3) Analyze the competition.

4) Research industry trends.

5) Decide if I want to enter the niche.

My concerns are

Am I making this too complicated?

Do I need to do more?

I am aware of a lot of the tools GOOGLE has for this work, but are there others or better ones?

Are there steps, processes, tools I should also do?

This is where I am right now and wisdom is most welcome and appreciated.

Hope all here at WA ARE HAVING A PROSPEROUS DAY,

"Am I making this too complicated?"

Yes. What are you interested in? What can you write 100 articles on it of 500 to 1000 words each? There's your niche. It's a good one. Go after it.

Hi Donald.

There are some good responses here for what you will be doing when choosing your niche. Sometimes we do make it more difficult by over thinking it.

Here is one member's contribution that has helped to put some perspective on this.

Hope this is helpful.

Think about the fact that the most important factor to your success with any niche is content! So you want to consider what it is that you will find enjoyable writing about continuously!

Thanks everyone for the great advice!

I agree with the lady below.

I have to agree with everyone's answers. Choose your passion first and then your keywords. It will be easier to write about your passion, than a niche that you think will sell. If you cannot identify your passion, join the Bootcamp. That may help.

I think that if you have passion, hobby or something you are very interested in and know a lot about...chose that as your niche. Then you can start with the other stuff, identify the audience, get good keywords for the niche you have chosen, work hard and see where it takes you. Every niche can make money if you do it right, and it's more fun to work hard with something you care about

All of what you have listed are certainly valid concerns, but the big thing would be is the niche you're considering a passion and something you can write about day in day out.

Hope this helps.

I am also close to think that it looks too complicated. But my experience is limited and you might ignore it. Chose what you like to write about otherwise it will make no much sense. Just my view.

I'd say you are over thinking it. If its your first niche I would recommend doing one you are already informed on. You will work yourself into the ground trying to research out a niche you know nothing about. It will frustrate you as you don't see traffic building.

If for instance it takes 3 months of serious work to get anywhere near a workable traffic profile and that time can be extended two fold if you have to do the research first.
