The Reasons We Do What We Do

When we start out on our journey here we are full of enthusiasm and get up and go.

As time passes however we can all get bogged down by life, challenges or something simply not working out. So we pick ourselves up, dust off and start again.

Some people sadly do not and give up on their dreams.

Whenever we get to a point that' seems like it's just not happening, just remind yourselves of the reason you started this journey and how it will improve your situation. For me I look at my children everyday and that is my motivation to keep going.

What was your reason?

What keeps you going?

Some time in the past (actually many years ago) I used to be very fond of running and made a habit of running just about every day.

I gradually increased the length of my runs and was often sorely tempted to give up when I "hit the wall" but somehow I found the strength and energy to make to push through.

I guess my motivation was a personal pride in not giving up, so I gritted my teeth instead, summoned my willpower, and told my brain that I could do it!

Maybe it was the endorphin's but I always felt a personal high as a reward…… Call me a junkie!

Kind regards,
~Arthur

that is true life does happen however it is important to pick ourselves up and push on great post thank you Gary

Thank you for sharing this reminder, Gary!

Gary,
I started because I am unhappy with my 9-5 job and would like to be my own boss.
Then my daughter decided it was time to have a baby, which will be here in Late August or Early September and I would like to be able to stay home and watch my little one!
I want to be working from home, and that is what is keeping me going.
Thanks for making me think about why I started and why I want to keep going.
Sheila

It's that kind of motivation that will get you what you want

I started this to make extra money in retirement. Money for the nice extras in life. It is easy to get side tracked by life's grind. I still want the same things but find that to stay on track you need a plan that works for you.

Hi Gary, Your two questions are realistic, if you have reasons to keep going, the more you will focus on WA and knowing that there is future on this, the more you will keep on going.

That is very true....life gets in the way and people give up. I owned my own business for 30 years and retired at the age of 50.....My husband is still working (VP of an advertising co.), but I actually love being busy and having my own income & sense of security. I can't stop now, I am just getting started! :-)

The reason was simple enough. Build a website and write all I know and everything will be fine. The writing part has been though to keep up with and writing schedule challenging. But now that my site's health is going towards 100% is kind of satisfying.....

Thank you and cheers,

I look at my sad bank account and I think of commuting and stress and it keeps me HERE to make money. I'm sure everyone has a different reason.

Each person has a personal point that will motivate them, just never lose sight of it.

I joined WA because I wanted to have a business and I wanted to be in control of my life. The thought of waking up and doing something I hate keeps me going and going!

Make your dreams come true or keep dreaming!
