How to disable SideBar and Widgets for Webpage Pages (Updated)
Hello
I am hoping someone in WA may know how to disable the sidebar from my pages in my website? I have a Blog Post and the side bar is useful there but not on all my pages of my website. The only thing I would like on other pages was how to get back to Blog Post. I asked Word Press but they said that I should get WA to help me there.
So can I disable the sidebar contents from my pages? If so How?
Thank you everyone who responded I have now figured out how to control the sidebar and widgets.

And with pretty much every other theme you don't need a plugin either. Page attributes, as SkylerV describes them often have slightly different wording, but usually the same essential function. It's easier than you think.
hey Gary with RCG Forest you only have to go to your pages and click edit, once you done that on the right side below the update button should be a block titled "Page Attributes" There should be 3 things in this box 1- Parent 2- Template and 3- order. Click on Template and scroll to you see "Full width page- Template- no side bar" once you've done that just click update and view your page. It should be without the side bar. Let me know if this helps? :-)
Depending on your theme you can change your page layout for individual pages - go to the page you wish to modify and look under Page Attributes - then under Template - in that drop down menu you will have options on the page lay out. Sound like Full Page is what you are after - this will eliminate your sidebar(s) -
Hope that helps

If i have got you correctly, You mean to say - you do not want the same sidebar on all the pages. If that is the case, you need to install a plugin called widget context. than you can control your sidebar more easily.. If that is the case reply me,, i will send you video of how to install it and customize your sidebar.
Hi Baruarajat, Yes that is what I am trying to do. I want to control what appears on which page of my site
Sounds like a plugin would do the trick. Or installing a theme with the functionality built in
Hi Gary, I am sorry for the late reply. Watch this video, it will help you to install the plugin and customize your side bar. When the guy says permalink, it's actually the page url ( example- Mywebsite.com/how-to-eat .. now how to eat(permalink) is the name of the page. you can see that on the address bar when you are on that page. If you need any help please feel free to ask. Hope this will help you . http://gfydmember.com/wordpress-training/wordpress-tip-of-the-day/032to
