How to combat limiting beliefs? Take this easy and light-hearted approach!

We are far from perfect but we always want to be better and better, achieve our goals, realize our dreams. This is normal!

On the other side, we always have our little devil whispering into the ear and making us doubt, whether we are really able to do things. This is also normal!

How could we silence this annoying devil - I mean, how could we eliminate our limiting beliefs? I wanted to go behind the scenes and asked the following question:

What is that drives us to do something that we want to do or have?

The obvious answer would be motivation. But think about: is motivation itself enough to be victorious over a limiting belief?

What is that moves us to find out things, even if they are scary or uncomfortable?

Suddenly a word came into my mind and enlightened me!

We are humans, we want to know and understand the WHY of things! We continuously learn by discovering the reasons. Our curiosity gives us the courage to go ahead and reveal what is behind the curtain!

Curiosity is much stronger than fear or doubts!

I will leave you with the following quote to remember if you have doubt in yourself and in your capacities to understand or fix things:

Stay curious and be successful!

That's lovely Gabriella thank you

Thanks Louise! There are always little things that we can do to make our life easier, happier or more even efficient. It is good to remember and be remembered of them!

Thanks Gabriella. I just have to remember. I will keep your blog and write your quote in my notebook. Thankyou

Thank you, Gabriella-I'm very curious. :)

Hi Rick, Curiosity is one of your strenghts! As you are not a cat, cannot kill you! :)

Good thing. I guess I'm safe! :)

Thanks so much for the share, Gabriella:). You're keeping me inspired!

It was my pleasure! Thanks for readin and commenting!

Great quote! Thanks for sharing, Gabriella.

Thank you Rosa! I am happy if my thoughts resonate with others! Have a great day!

Will do! Thank you ;-)

Thank for stopping by Liz! I hope you will make lot of positive experiences using your own curiosity to find the why of the things (especially in internet marketing)! :)

Almost all children are naturally curious. For lots of different reasons some of us lose a lot of that as we get older. We should all embrace curiosity and use it to grow and learn!

Hi Erica! Thanks for your inspiring feedback! Yes, children are an excellent example of learning by curiosity. Thy are pure and have no fears or other beliefs. Actually we are who "mark" them with our own ones even if we don´t want it.
I avoid swimming for several years because I did not like the feeling when water entered in my nose. When my daughter began to learn to swim I did not tell her about this negative experience because I did not want to influence her negatively. At the end without telling her anything about this, she had the same negative experience! This has already gone, we go together every week swim. What is the moral of this? firstly that we probably transmit our negative beliefs and fears into our children. Secondly that we CAN eliminate them with the right mindset and/or by the support of others. Have a great day!

Hey Gabriella,

Great pints there, really hit the nail on the head.

I find that my negative devil in my ear (the one that tells me i'm useless etc) actually motivates me. Whenever I see someone I consider better/richer/stronger etc... than me and that little voice says 'he's better than you' I just think 'maybe they are right now, but not for long'. It helps me realise that I'm not currently where I want to be so gives me the drive to try and achieve it.

Stay curious,

Josh.

Hi Josh, Thank you so much for your comment! We have to admit, we all have our little devils. Some more sympathinc than others. :) As I understood you, your devil is more than a warning sign that in one or other area of your life you need to optimize some things. This is not a fear to do something or take action. This is all good, I admire your persistence and focus to go and get your dreams! And often these devils just lie and it is much easiert to believe them than prove the contrary, like you do. Why would you be useless? This is a lie!

I see what you mean about being on the same wavelength. Excellent post. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks Lisa for reading and commenting!

Oh, Gabriella, I think that's how some of the best programmers and software engineers started out, as boys, not afraid things might break, just climpering and clampering away.......

Hi Therese! Not mentioning Albert Einstein! When he failed, he always used to tell to had found out a way that would not lead to the desired outcome and not that he failed. Thanks for commenting!

And that view on things kept him going......

That makes sense :)

Thanks Loes! Limiting beliefs are like ghosts. We can be our own Ghost Busters!

Let's beat them:)
