Supernatural Encounter

As a boy I grew up with my grandparents living in Alabama, where it is very hot to say the least. My grandparents attended church regularity and I had to go if I wanted to or not. At night before bed grandmother would read the bible to me for about an hour, when I got old enough to read she had me read one night and she would read the next night?
My grandparents had a very large garden and there was always a lot of work involved. early in the spring my grandfather would drive the tractor in the garden to plow up the hard soil, then when I was old enough I would walk behind the tiller and till the big clods of dirt down into small clods of dirt it was hard work and hot also, sometimes I would have to hoe in the garden to remove the weeds so the plants could grow and that would make blisters on my hand but I grew to enjoy the work knowing that I was helping out. All the hard work would pay off at the end of summer we had plenty of food from the garden.
My grandfather would take me to the grocery store but all we need was some meats, paper towels and toiletries because we had plenty of fruits and vegetables we didn’t have to buy those at the store. In the 4th and 5th grade I attended a Christian school close to my grandparents’ house, the school was part of the church we attended and it was just getting started.
As I grew older I wanted to go to the public school so in the 7th grade I started and began to build some relationship with people that used drugs and alcohol. By the time I was in the 8th grade I was already using Mariana and smoking cigarettes , hiding this from my grandparents because I didn’t want to hurt them they was so good to me. I had been to church and Christian school but never made a decision to invite Jesus to come into my heart. I started using cocaine all different kinds of pills getting drunk on the weekends staying at friends’ homes. I was a mess a slave to getting high and I wanted to be high all the time but it would always wear off and I would come back down. My grandparents would tell me not to hang out with the wrong crowd but I didn’t listen because I thought I knew what was best for me. I eventually y dropped out of school made it to the 10th grade but that was as far as I got.
I started working with my Uncle who was a contractor in the summers then when I quit school I worked for him full time. He helped me get my first car and put a new engine in it but I ended up drunk and totaled the car I was take n to the hospital and stayed them for some time, my aunt was a RN there and she took good care of me.after I recovered I still didn’t change my life style I think I even got worse. I met a girl and we started living together and had three children together, I was working as a carpenter and always looking to get high before and after work.
I started have dreams and in these dreams I saw myself falling and burning my flesh was melting and it stunk bad the fear that was upon me was terrible , I would wake up with sweat all over me and my heart racing hundred miles an hour you know like you had been running for your life. One day I said God if you are real show me. The next day a man I had never met knocked on my door and he asked is so and so lived here and I said no I had just recently moved in , come to find out he came buy regularly to give the man a ride to church.
Then he asked me this question If you were to die right now do you know where you would go to heaven or hell. I remembered the dreams I had been haven and told him I would go to hell and then he asked me if he could come in and show me how I could go to heaven so I let him in. We sat down at my kitchen table and he opened his bible and began to read to me of how God loved the world and me so he sent Jesus his son to die on a cross to pay my sin debt.
Rodney told me about John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but has everlasting life.
Romans 3:10 As it is written there is none righteous, no, not one: there is none that understands, there is none that seek after God.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death: but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Rodney also read to me romans 10:9-10 That if thou shall confess with thou mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. After Rodney finished reading he asked me if I wanted to pray the sinner’s prayer and I said yes. It went something like this Father forgives me of my sins; I believe that Jesus died on the cross to pay my sin debt and that on the third day he rose again to life. Jesus come into my heart and save me, be my Lord and Savior.
After I prayed that prayer it felt like a ton of bricks fell off my shoulders and I was set free from my sins. It was February 10 1990 the day that I prayed that prayer and after I walked outside and everything looked different the clouds had a glow of glory about them the grass had a glow of glory about it there was something different in the way I saw things compared to the way things looked before I prayed the sinners prayer. All things we new and I saw things differently, I also had a new joy and peace in my heart that I had never had before. I started attending the church that Rodney went to so that I could learn more about what had happen to me. I was told that I had been born again and that was why everything looked different. I used to smoke two packs of cigarettes a day, anything I could find to get high and drunk every weekend but after that prayer the desire for cigarettes, drugs and alcohol was all gone and I had been placed on a quest to get to know this God who I had a supernatural encounter with and changed my life for the better and I am still frees from cigarettes, drugs and alcohol today it’s amazing to me. The reason that I’m sharing this is so that you will have a supernatural encounter as well that will change your life also.
