Excited and Bummed at the same time

So like the title says I'm excited and bummed at the same time.

I have been working on my Super Wealthy Affiliate course that Kyle gave us, feeling a little over whelmed with having to write 3 posts per week, since I'm so new to this I have to research almost everything I want to write about. The good news is that I have not been working so I have spent tons of time working on my sites and getting the research done and learning as much as I can.

Since I have to have income I have been also looking for work, so I had an interview today and was pretty much hired on the spot. YAY!!! UGH!!!

Excitement and frustration at the same time.

Kyles Super Affiliate Requirements are very rigorous, and working full time is going to really put the pressure on!! I fear I will fall behind.

I won't stop, I am determined to succeed at this...one day I WILL smash my alarm clock :-)

Trust me, I feel your pain. I am currently due to have my baby any day now so I can only imagine how much I will be able to actually keep up with the super affiliate training once my daughter arrives. If I can do it I know anyone can! LOL

Congratulations!!!! Oh you are so lucky, is this your first? I was so excited when my first grandbaby was due, she will be one year old in two weeks. (That's part of my distraction - they live with me)
You're right - if you can do it, I can do it. Thank you for leaving a comment

Thank you! This will actually be my second. I feel like I am starting all over though because my first is 8! We shall see how this goes!

Yeah so you have already tasted the freedom of having a child in school and now you're starting over, You will do great.

Hello Pam, that is fantastic to have scored a job right on the spot and yes it will cause you to reflect on how to manage building a personal business and working full time, but that is usually how most small business begin. All the best and keep all of us in the loop as to progress.

I know you are right, I am thankful that I have had 4 months not working to really get started, i finished the certification course with a niche sight and started the bootcamp just a few weeks before the Super Affiliate group started so I am thankful for having that jumpstart so to speak. And I am thankful that an employer saw potential in me to hire me on the spot. I need to remind myself to be thankful for that.
Bless you and best wishes to you as well

That's great progress, Pam! You seem to be determined to succeed. If you don't give up, I know you'll make it, despite the difficulties you're having now!

Congratulations on being so amazing you got hired on the spot!

You're so right, Harvey: I think the majority of WA members have full-time jobs. Many also have families at home. Squeezing out time to build their businesses is tough but, in the end, SO worthwhile!

Sharon

Congratulations on the new job. I know what you mean about feeling overwhelmed. I work 55 hours a week, have 2 kids, go to school full time and I am also doing the Super Affiliate Challenge. Whew, it is a lot!
It all comes down to time management. Believe me, I get no rest. It is scary as there is a lot of writing and research to do. I am also new to the making money niche.
You can do it! Good luck!

OH WOW - what am I whining about, you have your hands full. Bless you, you can do it. Time management is what I need to enforce, thank you and good luck to you

Thank you. I know we can both do it!

Congratulations on your new job! I know it will take a lot of hard work but if you are determined to do this, you will be able to manage your time. You just have to do it one step at a time at your own pace. You don’t need to rush. Just enjoy every moment of your online business learning journey. All the best to you!

Adel :)

Thank you, slow and steady wins the race. as long as I keep moving forward I will make it through

Keep that spirit going, Pam. :)

I am also on a full time job but l know that if l do not build my own business, my future will not be bright and l will keep on building my employer’s dream. Knowing what l want to become/achieve is what is motivating me to keep going during the challenging times. Kyle is helping us achieve our success by pushing us and the best thing with Wealthy Affiliate is that we have all the resources we need. What l have done to have time is to give up some of the things I used to do like watching TV unless it’s a program which is helping me and also rearranging some of the household activities.

Oh you are so right, my tv hasn't been on in 3 weeks except for when my Husband is home. My grown kids and grandbaby all live here so I will have to schedule my "Grandma time" and work time.

Hi Pam, Congrats on your new job! Exciting times!
And I hear you. The pressure is on.
My Mom always told me you can never do more than your best.
Whatever you are able to do... Whenever you are able to do it... Is good. Great actually.
Wishing you all the best.

Thank you, your Mom has great advice, I will take it to heart

Don't get frustrated, I hear ya. I'm closing on a new business and moving to a different state in one week. What was I thinking... I was thinking I just do what I can and work hard. I may not always feel motivated but I am always committed. There is a difference. chin up!

Thank you, motivation is important, staying focused and not chasing shiny objects is what's hard. Just do what you can and keep moving forward

Absolutely. The point is we are human and it's ok to not feel motivated some days. Take a break! As long as you stay committed to your goals, you're golden! Have a great motivation-free weekend. Welcome Motivation on Monday ;)
Michelle

I can empathise!! I went back to work full time two weeks ago and feel like I'm in a constant state of exhaustion. I get home from work, get the kids ready with dinner and homework and showers etc, put them to bed then start work on WA.
I am knackered!!

But then I'll publish a post and feel like I have achieved something.

I think that there will be lots of people feeling the same. I can't wait to smash my alarm clock either!!

All the very best :)

Oh bless you, you are working so hard at this. I will be in that boat next week.
Do you think by the end of the year we can have an alarm clock smashing party?
It's something to look forward to.

Love it! We can all post pictures of our smashed alarmed clocks :)

The great thing is that we have this community of people going through the same thing, and all helping each other get through.

I'll be thinking of you next week. You can do it x

I love that idea, Melissa. I'm not in the group, but I sure would love to see pics of you guys' smashed alarm clocks after the challenge. That would REALLY get the community pumped!

Good luck with your new job. And remember, the goal is 12 for the month, an AVERAGE of three per week--it's OK if you get two in one week and four in another--you just need to space them out and not post a bunch in one or two days.

Best wishes,

Joe

Ok thank you, i still struggle with writing content so that is the hardest thing for me. I will try not to panic

I find the hardest part of writing content is just getting started...once I get going, the worry vanishes because I'm concentrating on the project.

I have a pen and pad next to my keyboard, and have started jotting down thoughts/ideas when I get them...will see how that works out.

Just keep at it, don't give up--it will come.

Best wishes,

Joe

Hi, Joe.

I'm not in Kyle's group, but you made such a great point, I wanted to comment on it: "... the goal is 12 for the month, an AVERAGE of three per week..."

Taking your point even further, the ULTIMATE goal is to write 144 posts (12 posts per month x 12 months), with the MINIMUM per month being 12. During the longer months and the months when there are fewer days one must report to the "day job," and those times when things aren't chaotic, some of the posts can be written in advance. (Not published, just written and held in reserve). That's a stellar way to safeguard against "failure" during months with less "free time" and holidays (crazy-busy for many people!) and when life throws a curve ball.

Even having just 3 "extra" posts done in advance takes away a huge amount of stress.

Sharon

144 posts? OK, now I'm scared...

Not really...that's what I'm guessing is coming eventually, along with more fantastic training and guidance.

Thanks for you words of support and vision...I will definitely keep them in mind.

Best wishes,

Joe

Hi, Joe.

Since one of the most important tenets of building a money-making online business is consistency, I can't image Kyle would start you guys off with 12 posts per month, then reduce that number.

I understand: 144 posts can seem overwhelming. For me though, dealing with the "big picture" of any task is less stressful than the same daily/weekly/monthly grind hanging over my head. Day in, day out, same, same, same.

When I know exactly what it takes to finish the job - when I know at what point I can say: "I'm done!", I'm more motivated. There's a finish line and I can see it. I do as much in advance as I can and almost always finish early. Sometimes, I drop the ball and fail miserably, but that makes me feel so miserable, I'm HIGHLY motivated to avoid it. :)

Wishing you astounding success!
Sharon

Hi Sharon,

You are right. when I saw 12 for the first month, I figured the goal would be at least that throughout.

I concentrated on the "easy" ancillary tasks first, and found myself a bit behind the power curve, now working to catch up, and i will, and then work to get ahead. No panic, just eating that whale one bite at a time...:-)

Thanks for your thoughts and wishing you success also,

Joe

You're a pure delight to talk to, Joe. I love your attitude. I'm convinced you're gonna knock the challenge out of the park!

Thank you for the good wishes. :)
Sharon

Congratulations on the job!

No one is further behind on Super Affiliate than me. Kyle does not want to make anyone suffer, he only wants us to do well!

Keep chipping away at it all, you are doing brilliantly!! It’s all exciting!! You’re going to be just fine.

Wayne

Thanks Wayne for the support, I think you can do it also :-)
have a great day

I feel more certain about you succeeding!!

But hey, times are difficult sometimes, I am in one of those times.

I don’t give empty words and I will also keep chipping away!

Cheers to us all I think!! Let us just enjoy the journey!

Wayne
