Why does comedy and humor work?
The question is: Why do humans smile and enjoy comedy and humor so much?
The short answer is this:
“The punchlines are unexpected.”
Our human minds try to predict what the speaker will say next. Need proof? Just watch how often other people try to finish our sentences.
So, in humor, when the punchline is unexpected, our brains love it. It is interesting. Dopamine floods our brains.
What lesson can we take from this?
We should be somewhat unpredictable in our conversations and presentations. This will keep our prospects’ minds engaged.
Prospects will become bored if we give boring, predictable presentations.
Keep your smile open - wheather in public - as also on social networks.
I wish you all a pleasant time in January.
Best regards
Friedrich-W. Fritz

Our brains are always predicting what comes next. Humor works because it breaks that pattern, surprise triggers dopamine and laughter. Same rule applies to conversations and presentations: too predictable and people fall asleep while talking to you. A little unpredictability keeps their attention like smacking them in the face. (My signature wakeup call) hehehe

Thanks! Sure, it makes a lot of sense. After reading this post, what I decided is... While writing my blog posts, I need to include comedy and humour to keep readers engaged.
