Beliefs and Values
It's Easter here in Greece.
The most important period of the year for every orthodox.
For some of you Easter is a memory. For others, it' s happening right now. There are people that don't celebrate Easters at all.
This was the first tasteless, odorless, colorless Easter in my whole life. Even though I am in my country, I wasn't touched by the meaning it conveys.
Not until today.
Nature and Greece imposed the notion of Easter on me today. The Greek sun, the Greek "filotimo" and "besa", the music and the dance on the streets, the ouzo and the retsina, all our distinctive characteristics, reminded me that I am blessed to be alive and live in this unique country.
Perhaps the majority of you aren't religious at all. I am not either. At least, not in the conventional way.
I've got a religion, though:
What I celebrate is peace, forgiveness, love, freedom, hope, togetherness.
What I treasure is dignity, respect, loyalty, truth, honesty.
What I believe in is the goodness of mankind
I am certain that Ghandi knew better when he said :
“Your beliefs become your thoughts,
Your thoughts become your words,
Your words become your actions,
Your actions become your habits,
Your habits become your values,
Your values become your destiny.”

If I could’ve liked this 100 times I would have. Very well said. I believe Easter is very important to us who believe. I’m going to share this with my family.
Thank you for sharing have a wonderful day.
All the best.
I'm just getting around to reading this post. It must have gotten lost in the shuffle some how. It's lovely and I also treasure what you treasure in life. I'm a spiritual person not taking on any one religion as an adult but was raised up in a church. The words Ghandi says are true I believe.
