Chucking a wobbly
After many late nights, and long days, I have something that resembles a web-site! After swapping and changing things, what seemed a million times, I decided to apply for my first Affiliate links by way of an Affiliate marketing network.
I did some research on some of the products that I am writing about and found a store that sells them. After checking out their website I decided to click on the Affiliate with us link. That then sent me to another link which was an application to join a particular Marketing Network which asked all sorts of questions about my site (about the only question they didn't ask for was what colour undies I had on !)
After all that, I sent off the application and waited, and waited,....then finally I got an email saying "Your Application has been Declined". There were many reasons, but the one which stood out to me, was" We do not support websites that use blogs" This was a real kick in the guts for me, and I did what we Aussies call " Chucking a Wobbly" I felt like smashing everything in sight !! Raising my voice didn't help much either as my dog ran off and hid by my bed !
Calming down, I decided to go for a walk along the beach out front of my house (with my dog ! who forgave me) and I thought about things and what I was going to do. I have had lots of setbacks in life, and this was just another little hurdle to jump, so I took this on the chin and have decided to press on, Hey! after all theres plenty of other marketing networks out there isn't there.
