I am building my site and experimenting adding images to the media library through the dashboard. I am unable to add images. It gives me HTTP error. Can anyone help, please?

The problem is now resolved. I thought it was an internet speed problem. It was not. I converted the JPEG file to PNG format and everything working. Thanks to all.

Thank you Jenn and Allyn. Your comments helped. I think my problem is linked to my internet speed. I will follow up in the week and let you know if it has been resolved.

There are several WA discussions regarding this same problem. For example: .

Enter "http error uploading" into the search box at the top and read a few of the discussions for more potential help.

You can also enter "http error adding images to media library WordPress" in a search engine and you'll find a number of entries talking about this type of error. There appears to be several potential issues that could cause this problem: one person had to convert jpeg files to png files to get them to load, several talked about an incompatible level of PHP software on their host, a couple mentioned that they had a plugin activated that was causing the problem, etc.
