Hi lovely WAers, I hope you are having a relaxing Sunday.
I recently bought a new domain that is more appropriate for my niche site.
Before I switch names, I would like to know if there is any risk of losing all the indexing and rankings that I have now in the old domain.
Do you recommend switching domains, and what are the risks?
And if yes, is this a hard job to do, as I´m not technical.
Thanking you in advance. Cheers! Marisa

Hi Marisa, there is an easy move process if you're moving a siterubix website to your own domain: How to Transfer a SiteRubix Website to Your Own Domain And your rankings should recover quickly. Long term, it is the best move.

If you use the Move button inside SiteManager, it will place a Redirection from the old domain name to the new domain name. The search engines will pick up on this and index the new pages, usually, the same as they were before, however, the domain name is part of the ranking algorithm, so the name of it could work for/against you, and depending on how old the previous domain name was, you might lose the domain age value. Remember to also update GSC etc with the new name. And if you have shared your links around, make sure to go and update those backlinks, or leave the redirection in place for as long as possible. Generally speaking though, no, it shouldn't impact you too much, and it's an easy process.
