Has anyone used the new widget blocks yet as I am confused as to how they work. I am trying to create a navigation menu for my side bar as I have too many categories to put them all on the top menu. Any help at all would be appreciated.

I think the best thing to do with new updated things like this is to just go into it and have a muck around checking everything out. It's quite simple once you know where everything is

Hi Chezbrown. What you need to do is:

1. Create a menu for the side bar.
Go to Appearance
> Menu
> Create a menu
> add pages and posts you wish to have on this menu

2. Add this menu to the side bar:
Go to Widgets
> Make sure you are on Main Sidebar
> Click '+' to add a widget
> Add Navigation Menu widget
> Position it where you would like it to be on the side bar
> Select the menu you have created in Step 1

Remember to save each time you are done. Save after you created the new menu. Save after you add it to the side bar.

Hope this helps? :)

At least you still have hair.

I'm bald from fighting these widget blocks.😊

Do you know how I can make it a drop down menu?

With the given interface, you can only do dropdown for Categories and Archives. For the other widgets, you can set the number of posts or pages to show.
