Wrecksite Save The Day
Just a quick blog here.
Recently, I've installed Sumome plugin on my website because it has a LOT of neat features (list-building, popup, heatmap, social sharing, etc). You can see Jason's training about Sumome here:
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/analyse-g...
However, my website has been crashed after installed it. Social sharing buttons are always shown in the left side of my windows, even if I changed the display setting. Some of image display and homepage layout also has been wrecked.
What's worse, I try to deactivate and delete the plugin, but the mess it created still persist. Thankfully, I used a Wrecksite to try it first before applying it to my main website.
For more information about Wrecksite / Testing Site, you can see Loes' training here:
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/using-mal...
After a careful looking, it looks like my theme also doesn't compatible with other social sharing plugin (super socializer), because the mess still persist. I need both to be removed :)
So, this is my advise. Always do a backup when you want to install a new plugin, or at least do it in a test website. It may save your time and effort, rather than panicking because your website has been messed by a plugin.
P.S. : Anyone has recommendation for good social sharing plugin?
Cheers,
Ferdinand

It is always good to have a test site and back it up to,, it is quite and upset when things go wrong, but we do learn lessons from it
Yes Katie :) Mistakes are OK to happen because we can learn from it .
