First Sale
Yay! Saturday, 16 December 2017 I made my first sale on Amazon:) It has been a hard seven months but who's counting? Sunday, 17 December 2017, two more sales came in. Wow, am I on a roll or what, lol?
So here's what I've learned so far, over and above Kyle's training which I guess I didn't follow closely enough.
First, patience is all important. You won't hit the first page and get lots of traffic without giving it time and content.
Second, keyword research means more than searching for the right words on WA Keyword Tool or even Jaaxy. These are invaluable tools, but they are only part of the equation. Research your competition. I now Google my chosen keyword and using Mozbar estimate where I might rank against the websites that show up in Google's search. If I don't think that my keyword is going to put me on the first or second page, I put that keyword on hold even if the Keyword Tool or Jaaxy give it a decent QSR ie. below 100.
Third, write content using Jay's 10 steps to getting content ranked on Google:
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.co...
Rinse and repeat.
Using this method, my last 5 posts have ranked on the first or second page of Google. Previously, only 19 of 77 pages/posts have ranked in the top 30.
Onward and upward.

Hi James,
Thanks for commenting. Yes, WA training is the key, not only from Kyle and Jay but also from all the many helpful, collaborative community members who so willingly share their knowledge, experience, and expertise. Thanks to everyone for the help.

Just left your site, very well together, I could easily navigate very accessibly. Great niche!
OUTSTANDING!!!
That you made a sale is great news, Edward, but I think what you earned from the process is even more valuable.
Sharing our personal links is considered Spam, but Kyle does provide a link you can use where people can freely give and receive comments for their personal posts.
All the best, Edward!
Hi Veronica,
Thanks for the congrats. Personal link has been removed. Sorry, I misinterpreted something I read about our WA blogs being indexed in Google so used the post for that purpose. What I didn't read thoroughly were the WA blog rules.
I have nothing but respect for the fantastic community here and would never think of spamming anyone (here or on the Internet). I use the comment and feedback links regularly to give and request same.
Thanks for the correction, much appreciated and part of the learning process.

I did something similar a few months ago: although I was aware of the Spam rules, in the moment, it just slipped my mind, and I shared a link to someone else's site. Someone was kind enough to offer gentle correction. We help each other, Ed!

Congrats. That gives me hope as I just reached my fourth month here at WA.
Hi Nathaniel,
Thanks for the congrats. Yes, keep up the hoping and put the training into practice. It can get frustrating putting in long hours of work and making mistakes. But, learn from the mistakes and keep going. Never give up, it works just takes time. You are in the right place to succeed and have tons of help easily available.
Good luck in all your endeavors.
Ed
