WA name and affiliate link etiquette

I am feeling a bit awkward here. Marketing is still too new for me and I would have never guessed that I was going to like it so much. Because I hate marketing. I just simply do, or did. But I don´t want someone else running from me when they see me all filled with adverts and that funny face. It is an elegant marketing that I am aiming for.

Ok, so regarding the title and sharing WA and placing my affiliate links, for example, I want to make a comment on Jay´s hangout video Building a Niche Website Using WordPress from Scratch, https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=dUcYFQwiWcw
First because I think it´s great, But then, since we are at it and because I want to ask a question regarding jetpacks and wether I haven´t had the chance to learn that the instruction is right in wordpress on how to install it, or I haven´t had the time to find the teaching resource here, ok why not ask it there. I am feeling an idiot because I want to take the comment option not only to ask but also to mention WA and I don´t know maybe even promote myself, like a three in one. But that is exactly the question, where are the places where I can name WA and while directing people here use it to my advantage pasting my link.
It freezes me because I think part of this etiquette that I am not familiar with at the moment but that I wan t to follow has to do with not becoming the image that I have an repel of sales people in real life, telephone or over the internet.
