Paypal Email Scam

I log in to my email tonight and then I saw an email from Paypal stating that there is an unusual activity from my account. I was already skeptical and then I started to think that this is not right so I check all steps that I know that will prove me right that this is a phishing email trying to steal private, sensitive data. I took a screen capture so you all can see it.

Just always remember to do this steps and you will be fine.

  • Don't Panic. Clear your mind (yeah I said that because I have a different email address for my Paypal account)
  • Always check the sender (that's sender is not even from paypal)
  • Check if they put your real name (emails from Paypal will always contain your full name)
  • Do not click any links that you see (especially when in doubt)

I forwarded the email to spoof@paypal.com so they can take a look.

Have a good night everyone! Always be safe.

Julie

You are absolutely right! I get something from 'Paypal' almost every day and they are all bogus! I send every one of them to spoof@paypal.com each time.

Many times they discover viruses hidden and some times it is the websites the email wants you to go through that does the trick (literally)

Be wary, be very wary!

Very true. They're everywhere so we really need to be careful..
Spoof replied to me that it is really a Phishing attempt

Yep, that is usually what they are and, possibly, get into your email and the rest of your system!
