Can I reset my wordpress theme, or do I need to delete and reinstall the whole thing?

Hi all, thanks for all the responses. I have contacted support and they advised me that if I want to start fresh, I need to delete the website in the WA Website Dashboard. And then "Build a New Website" with the same domain. Thanks again.

You do not have to delete your theme if you want the same one back to default, just re install it.

Hi Trialynn, yes, but how do I do this?

I understand support has sorted you out - happy to hear it!

I think what I want to do is delete the theme and reinstall from scratch. How do I do this?

Click Appearance. Click themes. Choose another theme. Then go back and RE-choose the original theme that you wanted.

Hi PastorTae, I have switched themes like you said above. This does not reset anything. You still have all the previous pages/posts and other settings saved. I need to reset, not switch.

Does anyone else know to reset my theme, or how do I delete the theme and contents of the site completely and start from scratch. Cheers!

I didn't know you wanted to delete all the content and other settings. That's a different strategy. Depending on the number of pages, posts, settings, plugins, etc., you can manually go in and delete the content. It should go fast by selecting and then deleting. If you don't want even the plugins, you can deactivate them. But the antispam one and other pre-installed ones don't need to be deactivated. They you can go and select a new theme. If you want to be even more conservative, you can back up the content before you delete just in case you change your mind. Good luck

Hi again PastorTae. Support has sorted me out. Cheers!

great. Good luck

Do you want to reset your theme back to it's original state, or do you want to replace your theme with different theme?
If you want to replace the theme to something else, just follow Pastor Tae's instructions.
If you want to reset your theme, that means undoing the changes to the default settings. In which case look to see if there is a way to revert to "default" in the theme options of your dashboard

go to your WP dashboard, click Appearance, click themes and click Add New and then at the upper right, you can search themes (type a topic of interest) or in the middle you search installed themes....or, you can go to Google and search for themes and upload it to your site. If you need help with that, let me know.

Hello PastorTae and Savant. I want to reset the theme I have now, not install a new theme. But I guess I could reinstall the same theme.

Ok there should be a button towards the upper left to reinstall. Let me know if you need help finding it

It is quite impossible to read the names of the Wordpress Themes that are displayed in Site Rubix. Is there a list somewhere so that I can google them for more info about them?

There's no long list in plain text. There are a couple of thousand or more free themes so looking through all of them would take forever.

Best thing to do is search Google for the best free themes or most popular themes. That will give you lots of ideas and should give you a good shortlist to work from.

Narrow your search down by doing this and then look at a few sites in more detail and see which best fits your requirements.

Thank you IMc for the reply. I am looking for a particular style. I think it is called grid style. I will see if I can find a good free one. Do I just search for in SiteRubix and then install it from there?

The free ones should all be available through the Wordpress theme library. So just search for the name in Siterubix and add it.

You ,might find that some free ones are only available from the theme developers sites. In which case you'll need to download their zip file and then upload it into wordpress.

Okay, thank you so much! Hopefully it will make sense when I go to do it. I appreciate your time in answering my questions. :)
