Help Please - I Am Concerned About Weird Behaviour

There is a user here on wa who messaged me last week accussing me of copying her content. She is relatively new here and was unaware that I wrote that particular piece of content almost two years ago.

As a result her accusation I kindly and politely informed her that this was my third attempt at a website and the rough date of when I had written the content (about 18 months prior)

I should also note that another member, a few weeks prior to this incident, had warned me about her wierd and almost neortic behaviour.

Anyway, since then she messaged me telling me that I am not allowed to write my next post on mustard oil becuse she has just written a post on that... are you serious??

First of all... I have no idea what your site even looks like. Second, I never copied your content. Third, I have 132 posts lined up for editing and sceduling and fourth, I have so many ideas for content that there just isnt enough hours in the day to get them all written up.

I decided that the only thing to do is block her. But quite frankly I am concerned that she wont let this drop. I know I havent done what she is accusing me of so hopefully I have nothing to worry about??

If you have any suggestions on further precautions I should take, I would love to hear them. Some people do what is called deflection - where they accuse other of doing things they are doing. Is there a way I can check to make sure she isn't copying my site?

If you are reading this *asha911 you should knwo that copywrite effects both sites involved. I am aware of this so I do not do it. I dont want all my hard work to be wasted.

Kyle has says he will investigate if we cant sort between ourselves? I have already tried this but what I said didnt work.

Also please like the post and comment so lots of people get to see it and learn from my experience.

Thanks!

UPDATE:

I have since found her site and it looks like she has not plagariesed any of my content, a relief. I have booked marked and will be keeping a close eye on this.

If you are ever in a similar situation, you can use copyscape to check the articles.

Part of me just thinks she needs to do some more research on copyright laws so she doent wrongly accuse people in the future. But you cant tell others what to do, they will do their own thing.

Thank you for your support everybody. It is reasuring to know that you are all here for me!

UPDATE JULY 20, 2020

Even though I have blocked this user, she was able to see and respond to a comment I left in the 'Need website comments' thred.

I feel threatened and intimidated by the message she left me. I do not feel it is fair for other members to behave like this. If you agree, you can report her too if you wish.

I have reported it to kyle and will keep you posted about the progess.

Hi Catherine, I must say that your site is building and has that friendly feel to it. It will go well, for you.

First up, try not to be too concerned about it; the moment we go online to create a presence, we will sometimes face headwinds. Part of the learning process is how we navigate the issues as they arise.

Kyle is doing you a favor; it puts the ball in your court. So, in a way, you have to find a solution; that will help you and your business in the long run. The caveat in that is that he will help to resolve if there is no resolution.

There is a learning curve and process for newer folks, and in the initial phases, there are some shocks to be addressed.

Niches and content ideas and titles are not inclusive to you alone.

Just like content its self; write, and they will come!

Couln't move on the beach yesterday there were too many Bloggers living the laptop lifestyle. taking up all the available space.

Not

If you take the article that you have described and presented here, there are probably 30 gazillion posts the same or similar.

If we talk about web pages (remember, every website can consist of multiple pages), the numbers are overwhelming. A colossal 4.2 billion pages exist on the Web, spread across 8.2 million web servers.

Each month, 70 million new posts appear on WordPress blogs alone.

In the US alone, there are 31.2 million bloggers.

Newer folks can be precious with and about their content journey.

" I wrote about it so no one else can, and if they do, they have copied me."

It is a natural process; it works itself through.

The key for us is not to buy into it, and also one of the critical things is never to feel the need to justify or defend your position, especially if you feel comfortable with what you are doing.

I know it can not be very pleasant when we feel our integrity is brought into question. As a closeout, this problem will dissipate, as an issue. I think that Sasha will not last the distance; you expend too much energy in the wrong places, it never goes well.

It raises another question; folks introduce people to WA on a paid basis, if they go premium.

Is there a responsibility for them to monitor and give guidance when a member of their subtribe creates issues in the community?

It is suitable for all communities to confront and create conversations around issues as they arise.

So take care and keep on building that website of yours. Don't let others put you off your game.

Maybe she's just a little insecure and will settle down when she's been here for a while, and will learn that she can't dictate what you write. I'm sure many of us have similar niches and will write similar posts about similar products.

I wouldn't worry too much, even though I know it is unsettling and upsetting to be accused of something you haven't done.

In the long run, hopefully WA management will mediate and decide on who did what.

Kyle said that he would prefer to let us sort it out ourselves but would step in if it escalates.

I have blocked her becuase i found her messages exhausting, zapping my energy and effecting my ability to work on my site.

Hopefully she will take this in jest but I am concerned that this might frustrate her and make matters worse.

I will reach out to Kyle if this becomes the case. So far so good.

This is really a unnecessary event added on you. As I know, WA platform do not allowed copied content for publish. Since you can publish your content here is a good evidence your content has qualified by WA platform. I hope she will stop accused you after your clarification to her. Can this case be handle by WA management?

Yes, I also check my content on Small SEO tools, so I know I haven't plagiarized.

Hopefully she will learn as time goes on

Good Job Eccatherine, for the second part of your story. You checked her site and noticed that she didn't copy your content either. That's a good, and should let this go. Or you can research to find out if she is the type of a woman that has the habit of suing other business owners for nothing lol,

Favorme.

This girl is smart, favorme.

Hi Catherine,

Your solution to this problem is perfect! Just pretend she doesn't exist and keep working. Kyle will handle things on his end.

132 posts in progress!! You are way beyond impressive and I cannot imagine anything but tremendous success in your future! :-)

BTW I think they may be some plugins that stop people from copying information off your webite with the copy to clipboad function.

I had looked into this until someone said that if somebody was going to steal your content, they would find a way.

I work on my site daily and the plugins are not compatible with Thrive so i would need to uninstall and install frequently.

I think I am just going to search for copywrited content using a tool.

You are right, Kyle will look into the rest now. His response was rapid too. Thanks.

Sounds good, Catherine.

How do you like Thrive?
I am not using a page builder, just the classic WP interface. I have been considering Gutenberg (which is the block editor WP uses), Thrive, & Elementor.

I really love it. There are lots of different packages you can get (about $100 each) and they can be used on 5 sites I believe.

Or you can get a monthly subscription with access to everything.

I have Thrive Architect and Thrive Leads. The pages are optimised for speed and you can link the leads to your aweber and do all sorts of cool sign up forms, widgets and A/B testing

Sounds great. I'll have to take a closer look at it.
Thanks, Catherine!
