Might be doing some volunteer work in Latin America

I have applied in some latin American countries and hope to get some great working experience and contacts. I am applying for a surf hostel that need help with building blogs and websites! I am happy to help them out with setting that up and I feel confident enough to help them do that!

Kinda wondering how I can help them out with getting more sales. Some people claim to introduce them to WA is a good idea. I don't feel comfortable doing that yet because I am the man who needs to make it happen for them.

Any tips? Maybe something with blogging for them? post photos on their fb? tweet? Or perhaps just shoot awesome youtube videos about me volunteering there and telling people hey watsup? I am here, come surf with me? This is where I am staying, etc...

I have watched a little bit jay's video of local marketing but not entirely the video are very very long.

Wish me luck!

Good on ya! I hope it works out. What a wonderful opportunity and on top of that the help they need is with blogs/websites, good timing.

I would have suggested what you mentioned yourself: showing your awesome experience there! I would do it in the form of a blog, this will allow you to share daily through blog, pics and videos. A lot of travelers look to blogs for info nowadays because they get the real deal, not just what the official websites wants to show you.

You want to create the ''dream'', an experience, like when you are watching a travel show. If I see a travel tv show or web videos that catch my eye, I always take note and do research on that place, putting it on my ''to do'' travel list. The latest was Panama (where there was actually an awesome surfing community, but I forgot the name/city :( )

Good luck!

I think you will do just fine. That is definitely a great business opportunity for you. I believe you can make sales in time, people will want to know where you got your training and how did you get so good at it. That will be you opportunity to open up the door to introducing WA to them. People are curious beings, we always want to know, how, what, where, and why. You have all the tools to make it happen. I wish you all the best. You will have an opportunity to sell.
