I am sad and discouraged :-(

Hi everyone,

So what's going on? whaddup whaddup. I'm not really sure where to start with this blog as it has been on my mind for a while and I feel like getting some thoughts and emotions of my chest. I think I should start out with some good news first.

There are some things at WA that I consider to be golden quality.

  • I enjoyed the 4 get started courses.
  • I have learned some cool things as I started out with nothing
  • The amount of support I got is huge! Thank you all.

Unfortunately, nobody is perfect and nothing is perfect.

The downsides for me are:

  • Loneliness :-(
Well, it's been just me old me alone in my room. I miss working with people.
  • Computers drain me.
Ugh, I don't know how you guys work so hard on them, but I feel drained after 2 hours of blogging. I'm afraid that I need the outdoors and fresh air.
  • I still feel awkward about not being an expert on my niche. I do like what I learn, after researching.
  • I still feel like I haven't learned enough, which makes me think I am not a qualified internet marketer.

Now why am I thinking that?

Well, I haven't made any sales. Based from what I have heard you need to have patience for a year and/or maybe 100 posts. hmm well, I guess I'll see what happens when the time has come. The best I can do for now is either post no more than 1-2 posts a week for website.

My current financial situation

Last but not least my current financial situation is ridiculously bad. I am not a shame of admitting it as I know I am not the only one, but it's getting on my nerves that I cannot even afford renting a small house. I am not interested in becoming a millionaire. I am interested in making enough money to surf and live.

Conclusion

I paid for the entire year and will see how I feel in December, I cannot afford to hope for money to come in as I need a basic income after I am returning from my trip. One of my ideas is start offering people in my country help for building wordpress websites. I need active income. Thank you for reading my blog.

Best wishes,

Dan

Hey Dan, you are not alone. Others feel that way sometimes and there is so much support here to encourage you along. I wrote a blog recently just to encourage folks who are feeling discouraged. Drop over to my blogs and have a read. It's called Hard Work vs. Talent.

Hold on a change is gone come. We all have financial problem. I'm in the same boat, I'm without a job , but I'm gone keep a positive attitude and keep pressing on, and you do the same .

Hang in there Dan. As you can see, you are not alone. It really is good advise you have been given here. You love surfing but you are cooped up inside working too many hours on the computer. Always remember to take breaks or you will just burn yourself out. Take care.

Hey Dan, I strongly believe that if you can focus on your local marketing that you can start making some active income. You have learned here at WA on how to create a beautiful website and you should have no problem in doing one for a future prospect of yours.

I can tell you that I am making my full time income from my local marketing efforts and I like you, had zero experience when I started.

Let me tell you, in internet marketing, you will never stop learning as things change quite frequently so we are always in the know of things. We are all part of a great community that gives great support and will provide you with the guidance that you will need if you get stuck and this great community will provide you with a solution to get you going.

Don't let the fact that you don't feel like an expert or haven't learned enough, you will "get it" after you help more and apply what you learn on a frequent basis.

If you need any help, just reach out to me and I'll be more than glad to lend a helping hand.

Cheers!

Eddie C.

I have put a lot of thought in to that. At the moment I am thinking about learning some HTML and CSS first because I do not agree that we are taught to be competent web designers by following the get started courses. However, I do think a couple of months of training might do :-)

I hope this means you're going to hang around for a while still and keep the hope. We are all here to support you through the process.

Dan, I certainly appreciate your openness. As everyone has suggested, take some time to do outdoor activities and get some fresh air. Set a side a few hours a day to research and write and then take a break. Maybe a day or two off the computer will help. I'm like you, somedays I feel I have this whole thing "wrapped" up and I'm on the road to success and then I get hit over the head with something that is way technical and I can't understand it. One day at a time and baby steps. I hope you feel better about life soon. Have you taken some of the local marketing classes here? Maybe you can start generating some income by doing some SEO for customers or cleaning up local businesses websites and help them rank better.

Hi, Kary,

yeah I followed some of Jay's videos. Pretty good. I am going to give some of that advice a go in my volunteer trip and see how I do from there. I have decided to post 1 once a week a post on my website

Thank you for being so candid with us. You certainly aren't alone with this plight. I have read countless blogs by other members who have felt akin. I'm still in my early stages of developing my website and I'm not an expert but I choose a niche which I am interested in and willing to learn, do you seriously believe that WA has an amass of experts in their chosen field? research is your best friend and that is how you master the skill of eventually becoming an expert.

As far earning money well I do not know your financial situation but you have made some subliminal clues which suggest that you are possibly unemployed or in a financial crisis. This may sounds like a cliche but hang in there, as things will improve with time. Don't subject yourself to blogging endlessly, you will burn yourself out. Remember "all work and no play makes jack a dull boy". Meet up with some friends and/or embrace your family, get some fresh air, do something simple like go for a walk or exercise will ideally elevate your mood.

Sir, I am not one to normally bare my soul openly but am going to here. I am much older than you and therefore my possibilities of earning are less than yours. I can promise you that my present financial position is definitely worse than yours. This being through a business failure and through me being a person who will not let anyone down so to repay creditors cost us not just everything business wise but also everything personal. Like you I am completely overwhelmed by this course because before starting I had not touched a computer.
So as you see we have similarities so my friend lets retain the fact that we are similar. Though like you I get feeling right down I am not going to give up. I hold on to the belief that no matter how low I feel there is light at the end of the tunnel and I ask that you do the same. Lets together set a goal that in 6 months time we can stand up and say....we made it.

Dan, I have to admit, I almost cried when I read your post. It takes courage to express such deep honesty and where you are at in life.

You have no reason to feel ashamed about your financial situation. There many in the same boat whether they will admit or not.

I see your WA rank at 72, so I'm sure you have been a huge contributor here. You most likely offer more and have more expertise than you are giving yourself credit for.

I pray your sadness disappears and your financial circumstances improves to surf and live the life you so much deserve. -Christine

aaw that sweet. Sorry, didn't mean to make people cry. lol hugs

I feel the pain, I have been there, the only think that kept me going was my dreams and work, sometimes it was work and my dreams. What kept me motivated? my dreams. Hang on there and keep doing what you do best: dream and work - it will all come together and your dreams will happen.

Hey Dan! Just do the training and take advantage of the support. I understand what you mean and am in similar position ... see my profile! When you get lonely go take a walk or get a cup of coffee down the street. Me, I rather work alone (after all those years)! You will succeed here!

Cheers,
~ Joe
