When would I be "seasoned" a little bit on this?

I feel that I am learning at a very slow pace. The more I learned, the more I feel that I am absolutely a newbie, especially to the technical part of this online thing. It never stops popping up with new terms and technologies and skills to be learned. And it seems that they are coming up with a faster speed than my learning speed. Encouragement is needed!

It isn't how fast you learn something but how well you learn it that counts. I'm a pencil and paper king of guy, and all of this technology makes my head hurt! LOL! I am 52, and this is all a second language to me. I usually ask my wife to do these things for me because she is good at it, but I realize that I need to know how to do my own work. Writing copy is easy for me, but I spend a lot of time figuring out things like plug-ins and the basics. Fortunately, I'm a teacher and understand that learning is a process that takes time.

You are doing fantastic!! Just keep doing a little each day. Remember that little things become big things. Pennies become dollars!

Thanks, Sir!

Welcome to MY world!! And, most likely the world of 98% of the people here at WA! LOL!! I'm 52 and this is all a second language to me. I'm a pencil and paper kind of guy, so this technology thing is making my head hurt! Ha!! The only thing I know is that I can do only so much each day, but that is life. Think of it this way. We cannot take all of our breaths for our whole life at one time. The secret to long life is to keep breathing one breath at a time. Take your time and get to know each step before moving on, and know that you are doing the right thing by reaching out to other WA members and asking for help! Everyone here is working to help you with your success. Peace - William

I've been here for quite some years, and I still learn new things every day. Just take it a step at a time and eventually things will get easier. It takes time, especially with the ever-changing technical stuff...

If I can do it, I'm sure you can too, just keep at it! Be proud of what you've accomplished so far! Follow the training, do the tasks, and ask questions if you get stuck and need help. You can do it!

Best wishes :) ~Sherry

Thanks, Sherry!

You can do this. Trust me, if I can do this, anyone can. I am not tech savvy at all. It does go slow at times, but you can work at your own pace. It isn't a race, just take your time and learn your steps, and follow the training.

You got this!!

T

Lovely! Thank you, Tammi! :)

you are most welcome!!!

As the saying goes, you are not alone! I feel the same way and I've been hear a while. I suggest focusing on what we have learned...My goodness, we have a live website on the internet! It not quite where it needs to be but we have lot of training still to do. One step at a time.
Debbie

Thank you, Debbie! :)

I have been a technology teacher for almost 20 years. I still get baffled by the technical aspects of web design and management. I've been writing web content for the last five years and I'm still learning new things about content writing.

It is all a process. Take notes that make sense to you. Categorize your notes: Graphics, Wordpress plugins, images editing, etc. I bookmark the training here with tags that help me find it later when I need it.

People who climb large mountains do not get up one day and expect to reach the top of Mt. Everest overnight. They train for years, and they still make mistakes - some of them life and death mistakes, but they keep at it.

Online marketing and building a web business is a process, not a one time event. Like anything, if you stick with it and practice what you learn and keep reading...you'll get it.

Don't give up.

Wendy

Thank you so much, Wendy! I love your sharing and encouragement. Hug! :)

:-) :-) :-)

Your question Dorothy was my question also. But now I understand the importance of the lessons to be followed. There are many technical aspects that I should learn but I put one thing that should be the first of all, the content. As we try to understand everything while we learn we should work for our site's content if possible a particular niche, all others will follow.
Just be guided by the course and you will do great. If you want to do something outside what is recommended by the course just ask WA Management. Surely they will answer you.

Thank you very much, Jimmy! Very important point. I appreciate your encouragement and sharing!

You are welcome.

I understand where you are coming from as I was new to digital marketing also. In looking at your progress so far you look to be doing very well. We all learn at a different pace and some have to take baby steps. As long as we keep moving forward and do not quit!
Carol

Love your encouraging words, Carol. Thanks!

Dorothy, learning about websites is like anything we learn, such as learning to drive a car, or learning a new language, or learning to play a new instrument. What seems hard now will be become second nature before you know it!

Don't waste time wondering how to do something. Just ask in the community. There's always someone to help. You can also use the search bar at the top of this page. If you still can't find an answer send one of your followers PM. You can send it to me if you want to.

Thank you, Valerie. Yes, I expect that one day this will become my second nature!

I often feel the same way. I new nothing about internet stuff when I came here just over 3 months ago, I'm still not through the training, but I am learning a lot and I know I will have to go through each step of the training again when I make another site, but I know it will pay off soon. Stick to it.

Thanks, Lesa!
