Daring to go after my dreams

We all have dreams, right? Unfortunately, most of us never realize our dreams. That's not so shocking. The shocking part about it is why we don't realize our dreams. Because we don't think we deserve them and we're not willing to do what it takes to have them come true.

In my teens and 20's, I dreamed of being rich. Admittedly, that's not very specific and I had no idea of how to get there. What was specific was what being rich meant to me. I wanted a fancy car, a nice house, a boat, a motorcycle, a horse, to eat in nice restaurants, and be able to travel and spend money freely. At the time, it was all about me. I was easy prey to fall for any scheme that offered the promise of lots of money. Because I had no idea how to get there, I grasped at straws and spent money with little or no return.

After awhile, I started settling. I was making enough money, I had enough things, I didn't really need any more. I was fine with driving a Ford when what I really wanted was a BMW. I was fine with a house near a lake rather than on a lake. I was fine taking a modest vacation once every few years. I became "fine" with everything.

I'm done with being fine. I want to really live! And to really live the way that I want to really live, I need to have money. So I'm going after my dreams. You are all my new family, and you can watch or you can help. I can't do it alone.
