Learning to crawl before running
For the newbies who don't know what it is, I term it an illness where one cant focus on one program because they get a new offer each and every day and keep chasing product after product from the so called "gurus" in search for the next big thing which will definitely be something that will be promised as just clicking some few buttons and money start rolling into your bank accounts.
Believe you me that there is nothing like the next big thing and if there is then its simply you who will make it happen. The simple trick in internet marketing is just by doing one thing at a time and mastering it then you can move on to another and before you realize you will be doing multiple things at the same time and earning multiple income.
Wallace Wattles said in his book the science of getting rich that " everyday is either a successful day or a day of failure, and it is the successful days which get you what you want. If everyday is a failure, you can never get rich while if everyday is a success you cannot fail to get rich".
As simple as that, if you cannot close your eyes and mind on the various products and loads of those guru ideas, you'll end up always getting stuck in the middle of a program and move on to the next program or product that you'll be promised the next big thing.
In so doing, you'll end up doing all your actions inefficiently and you'll never get what you want. As Wallace said "If you spend your life doing inefficient acts, your whole life will be a failure". If we really wanna build our business then we've got to try to do each act an efficient one and in so doing our entire actions will be successful throughout.
Most of the programs out there don't take you through the basics that you really need and that is how you end up stuck right in the middle if you are new to this business and getting someone to point you in the right direction becomes a problem, unlike here in Wealthy Affiliate, as you can just ask any member and they will help you out.
However I do not mean there's nothing that works out there, but all i'm saying is, let us learn how to crawl before attempting to run,especially if we are new to internet marketing. Learning the basics build confidence in yourself and make you keep on with much enthusiasm.

The information overload has been one of my biggest problems so far and I'm slowly learning to that it doesn't help you in anyway shape or form. Staying focused and on task is what is helping me now. Thanks for the great info!

Just reading the email regarding these programs is distracting, far less actually doing them. I agree with you 100% about information overload. It's something to be wary of. Thanks for the great post.
It takes Work to learn these tools ,and I think you are right .
you need to focus on one thing at a time and learn the piece you need to move on to the next step .
The Internet Gurus want to appeal to the lazy part of me that doesn't want to do the work .

Hey Don, I really like this post! It hits home for me and begins to address the failures of so many people. They keep looking for the magic button that starts the money falling from the sky...the Lazy Man's Way To Riches. There are basics in this business and if one truly commits to learning and doing the basics, then they will have a solid foundation to build upon. As for failure, I only fail if I quit and do nothing and if I don't learn from the mistakes I make along the way. I will not fail...only make mistakes that will teach me the way to the top...

Hi Dave i'm glad you agree with me, i really agree with you cos success is simply the overcoming of failure, so if there's no failure then there can't be success. When you have a good foundation and you make a mistake at the top, all you need to do is start building on the foundation you have and correct the mistakes that you did and that is how success comes about. good post dw - IO and the learning curve are the two big obstacles to overcome - for me the technical aspect was very difficult - as you mentioned about learning the basics - that is what i have done and created some sites but now i have to go back and make them better and profitable - or finishing what i started -- i look forward to seeing you around
Seriously if you've been able to build some sites then i think finishing or making them look pro is very simple cos starting is the most difficult aspect. The beginning of something is the most difficult. So just finish what you started and feel good about yourself. Please pat your back for me when you are done. lol
