Hello, I just joined WA and I wanted to transfer the domain name I purchased from GoDaddy to the website I'm now building here.

I would like to share the steps I had to do with you, just in case you also need to do just that:

  1. Go to your GoDaddy account.
  2. Go to "My Product" section.
  3. Go to the domain name that you want to transfer.
  4. Click "DSN" next to that domain name.
  5. Under "Nameservers", click "Change".
  6. Click on "Enter my own nameservers (advanced)".
  7. Enter WA info which are NS1.MYWAHOSTING.COM for the first column, and NS2.MYWAHOSTING.COM for the second one.
  8. Click "Add Nameservers".
  9. Click save.

Ta-da!!!! Congrats, you did it!!!

It said that it might take 24 hours for the transfer, but when I checked mine two hours later, it was already done.

And domains bought from GoDaddy aren't eligible for transfer to another registrar if they're within 60 days of registration or a previous transfer.

I hope this helps.

Take care,

Donna

I don’t know what email address you used I have more than one email address can you send me the email address was sent to you please thank you 🙏

Hi everyone please check out my website and give me your honest feedback please. https://weightlessguru.com/

This is not allowed, please delete this and use the proper channels such as the SiteFeedback or SiteComments section under Websites on the left-hand menu. Or use the Give & Take Threads found by seaching above.

Congratulations :-)

Just to add the 60 Day rule is an ICANN rule and affects dot coms as well as other TLD's, but it does not affect Country Specific Domains such as dot uk etc

DNS Changes are actually instant, however, it can take up to 72 Hours to Propogate around the internet, due to server Caching. To speed things up, it helps if you do not access your domain name by typing it in to your browser for the previous 24 hours and then wait at least 10 minutes after submitting the change.

Also, this isn't a Domain Transfer, the Domain Name is still controlled by GoDaddy, but points to the Wealthy Affiliate servers. This is definitely the first step though in transfering, so well done. To complete the process, if you want to pay WA the annual fee for the domain name, rather than paying GoDaddy, is to wait at least 72 hours, then follow the Transfer process, by obtaining the EPP Code from GoDaddy, and entering it here at WA.

Hope that helps :-)
