A Winning Strategy!

Yesterday I wrote about how I was getting the hang of this blogging thing. And that was all about the steps I need to take to get a blog post published. But today it's all about strategy.

I wrote about a product that I think has real potential. I liked the look of it and I know that I would use this product. So, once the post was written and published, and I had some comments, I contacted the product's creator via email (his email was available on the product page, otherwise I would have searched him out on FB) and told him that I blogged about his product and gave him the link to the post on my blog.

I didn't hear back so figured that was the end of that. But I should have had more faith in myself. It turns out he left a comment on my blog post responding to another person's comment about his product. And when I looked back on the product page, I realized he left a note there too telling visitors that I blogged about his product and he left my link. He had a couple of social media icons on his page so I checked those out and he also left my blog link on his FB page and on Instagram.

So, those are small but important steps in the life of my blog. Those links are backlinks and will help my website gain traction in Google. I am so glad I sent that email - it had nothing but a positive outcome.

It was a win - win for me and for the product creator!

Yeeesssss! Backlinks!

I’m glad ur getting the hang of blogging - can u explain simply what is a neiche is - I believe I’m over thinking it and making it to broad or to narrow?

Hi Carrie,

The niche is basically, your main topic.

Or if you want: a specific topic category or segment;

For example, if you are promoting diabetic products, you are in the health niche.

Regards,
Zed
