5 Tools I Recommend For Amazon Affiliates

The following is a list of some of the tools I use most when running Amazon sites, and a few others I recommend. These are by no means essential - you can succeed with Amazon sites doing everything manually, but I get asked a lot about these things, so it makes sense to blog about them here.

Of course, these tools are here to complement the WA tools and Jaaxy, not replace them.

Some are free, but others are paid, that’s just the way it goes.

Tool Number 1: EasyAzon (Free/Paid)

I actually only really recommend EasyAzon Pro (the paid extension), this is primarily because you can add images to your blogs and have them auto-populate with your affiliate link and all the product details.

Essentially after setting up the plugin, all you do is click the EasyAzon button in a post, then search for the product you want to insert. After that, you choose the link type (image, text, CTA etc), and the link info appears.

You can also have these links geo-locate, which means if your visitor is from the UK, they’ll see UK links instead of US ones..this is a good chance to earn a bit of extra cash from outside the US.

You can do some of these things with the free version as well, but I generally prefer the pro version.

A lot of people recommend EasyAzon because you can get a 90 day cookie instead of a 1 day cookie, however, this cookie is limited and only works on one single product rather than globally across all Amazon products, so I don’t use it.

Tool Number 2: AuthorityAzon Theme (Paid)

Another good way to have products get added to your site is to use a theme that adds them for you. AuthorityAzon works similar to EasyAzon in some ways, but on a theme, rather than plugin level.

Another added bonus is that it’s a kickass theme and makes your sites look very good. In future, they should be adding multiple designs and other features too. I told them to :)

I always prefer to use a paid theme nowadays, but if you're on a budget, then stick with a free theme and recreate the effects manually. It's time conusming, but online you either pay with money or time.

Tool Number 3: Semrush (Limited Free)

Don’t bother subscribing to the paid version of Semrush unless your site is earning a fair amount. The free data it gives you is great though, especially if your site already has some traffic and rankings.

Here’s some cool ways to use it:

1.) Put your site into semrush. See what keywords you are showing up for that aren’t optimized. Optimise those pages to rank better for the keywords. Do this by adding the keyword into the post or titles more, or by adding other posts which point to that post.

2.) Check our your “top competitors”. Semrush will show you about 3-5 competitors for free, and you can go through them one by one and see what THEY are ranking for that you hadn’t thought of. I’ve reverse-engineered competitors like that many times and boosted traffic easily. This is a good way to supplement Jaaxy for your keyword research.

3.) Check out your competitors’ competitors. Do the same as for point 2, but one step further. I bet if you you spend a week or two doing this, (You only get a few searches for free per day, so do it every day) you can come up with dozens and dozens of content ideas.

Tool Number 4: Yarpp Plugin (Free)

Yet Another Related Posts Plugin, or any of the “related posts plugins” will automatically add a “related posts” section to the bottom of your posts. It does this based on the category or tags you’ve used in your posts. This is a great way to get people clicking to your other posts after reading something you've done.

For example, let’s say you have an article about the best pillows for bad backs, and there’s another one about the best pillows for side sleepers. Somebody will read one of those posts, then see a link and thumbnail to the other at the bottom of that post. This is great for increasing time on site, pages per visit, and of course, conversions!

Tool Number 5: AmaSuite (Paid)

This is quite an expensive product, but one of the pieces of software that comes with it allows you to find out the best selling products in any given category or sub-category. This means that if you’re writing a “best X” article, you really do know what the best sellers are. Additionally, you can use this list to find products to review. Even if Jaaxy says there aren’t many searches for it, there will undoubtedly be some long-tail searches.

It’s also a good tool for niche ideas, and if you use it in conjunction with Jaaxy, you can come up with a whole bunch of ideas.
