But what it you arent quite at that level yet and want a low key and easy free link tracking software? Surf over to Free Broken Link Check where you just plug in the URL of your site and it will tell you if you have any broken links. This program scans your whole site in one go. You'll need to bookmark this super useful website and return to it manually on a regular schedule but it will help you keep your sites clean and functional.

Too busy to remember a bookmarked link checker? Yes it happens, even critical data such as whether your links are all working properly can fall by the wayside when we get busy. No problem, if you use WordPress you can load up Broken Link Checker from the plugins menu and this is also a free link tracking software. It will monitor links in the background and bonus -- you can tell it to send you an email if a link goes awry. This is a small program that might say it has not been tested with your theme, but it still works fine with the vast majority of them.

Lastly and perhaps most exciting is the new Link Tracking available to Wealthy Affiliate members under the Tools menu on the far left side. You can use this tool to create and track a specific ad campaign, including the commissions you make from that campaign. It includes the more basic features that are available in the paid program consoles such as what keywords are sending people to your site, but doesnt yet allow you to store and trade out banners.

This tool seems to be in a beta stage at this time since it appears as a pop up that pops back down again if you leave the page, which is annoying when you flip to other pages so you can fill in information. Right now, the strength of the internal Wealthy Affiliate Link Tracking tool is in its ability to monitor the success of ad links. I would not run a paid ad campaign without using it, but it has the potenial to offer a more feature rich link tracking console right here on the WA platform and that's very exciting.
