I put this in my sidebar as a link to the disclosure page for the FTC rules. It should take care of their concerns.

I don't see what all the fuss is about though. If I had my own product that I was trying to sell online. I don't have to put in big letters "Hey world I'm trying to sell you something!"

However when it is someone else's product I am trying to sell, all of a sudden I am a deviant person for not having this on my site.

This would not make the FTC happy. The text must precede the affiliate link. They will not accept it in the sidebar, footer or any place else.

Use it at will that's what I made it for and the image is a free stock photo from a canva template.
