still not back to normal

If you have been following - you know my computer crashed - had it redone with windows 10 - and still have problems.

If I try to make it sleep - it does not really shut off - the fan keeps running - and it will not restart without a hard start -- plus the power button is difficult to make work.

I used Micro-center several times to try and make adjustments - so far no luck.

I installed Monosnap but could not get any voice to record.

Made a little video - it looked okay for the first time - I was down in the corner of the screen talking away - saved it - and replayed - lots of mouth moving - no audio.

Now many of you may say - might be better Dave - we did not want to hear you anyway. And...i asked the community for help - but - the suggestions related to a Mac and that is not mine.

Tried another App for video recording and finally got it done. It is not as versatile - but now people can hear me -- (yeh yeh - no comments about that.). But it finally worked. i used Screen-O-matic.

So here are my questions to you. My system is now running slower - the computer goes to sleep - sort of - but will not wake without a hard start and shutting down everything. There has to be a fix for these problems. Even my keyboard is running slower or responding slower. It's windows 10 and a HP pavilion laptop. Any suggestions?

I will leave you with one of my favorite sayings - I tell people this all the time.

Does that apply to my computer???????

Hopefully one of you WA'ers will have some answers for me.

If you have the OS disk and other application software available then I would do a complete backup and then reformat the hard drive and reload your OS and software. Essentially you are wiping everything off the drive and starting over. If you don't feel comfortable doing this then I suggest you take the computer in and tell them you want to clean you HD and reload everything. You may have a lot of issues and problem on your hard drive that are causing system problems and it is good to do this every so often. I usually do this every couple of years.

Do Backups and OS reload

Have you got "bootable" media ie an CD that has an OS
If U have try booting off this CD
If it still plays up get help from a hardware shop

when it went to Microcenter - they bench tested it before installing 10 - they said it was fine - I still think it is 10 related - I had NO problem with 8.1 for several years until I let it update this last time.

Hi I mainly use Linux OSs
However for testing purposes I have a MSoft Win 10 and Xp system.
The last time I used Win 10 system I hadn't used it for a while and it was very very sluggish.
It turned out to be the fact that I hadn't turned it on for some time and after turning on the updates suddenly started downloading and after several downloads it was back to normal.

If your system started to become sluggish after an update U might want to investigate backing off the last update and testing.

Hit the Keys Ctrl Alt Del simultaneously which will bring up Task Manager this allows you to view processes etc and be able to determine what might be causing your problems.

I have been there also - still think its in the 10 install somehow.

I saw this on google "if your fans are running all the time, even when your computer is idle or performing simple tasks, your computer may be overheating. This can sometimes be caused by dust clogging up your computer's case vents, preventing air circulation and keeping hot air inside"

Just a thought - it may be worth a try to take a look and see.

Agreed -- I had this problem with my computer a while back and it had clogged up with pet hair and dust. A vacuum and sweep should take care of it.

However, the Windows 10 is a complete nuisance. My father updated his computer and it went completely haywire. He had to strip Windows 10 completely and re-install it.

I downloaded Windows 10 about 6 months ago. It is much better than the Windows 8 OS that came with my PC. As long as one keeps up to date with ALL the updates, everything will be fine. Well, it is for me ... for now.

Janice.

its more a shut of and restart problem - the button is not working like it did before windows 10 install - also some installed software erases with every shut down - will have to call tech support again - 6th time

I will ck the fan - but other problems also - thanks for the help

Take it to a technician.

just had it at the technician and that is what started this all - they installed 10 and now I have problems - very strange things going on

What other programs do you use on this computer?
Are they all sluggish?

keystroke is sluggish - browsers seem slower - installed software vanishes when its shut off - but not all of it - just inconsistent stuff
