Warning - Phishing scam

A company representative called me to let me know that my money making website was finished and gave me the email address and the last four digits of the credit card used for the purchase. There were a few things that were incorrect with his information.

1. He knew only my first name

2. The email address was a company one

3. The last for digits of the credit card# were incorrect

Please be advised this was a person phishing for information. He stated he was from Drake Enterprises and yet the company is listed as Adrooba. I called the number back and he was at the number - 800-225-9567, which was the number he gave me.

Just wanted to make you aware of the call in case you experience the same.

It's okay, he won't be fooling me, after the scams I have come across online I can spot one from a mile away, In fact I can smell bull!#*t when I hear it.

Thank you for sharing this information though, it is important that people are made aware..

I know what you mean. You are welcome.

Thanks for sharing this information with us Della! It's scary how many scams like that are out there!

I know. Just when I think I have heard them all another one is developed. Just wanted to spread the warning.:)

Thank you,Della, we always have to stay on our guards

Hi Loes, That was a new one for me. It caught me off guard at first...You are quite welcome...I try to let you know when something is not right.

I've been caught off guard too, a few weeks ago, I got a notice of a parcel, that couldn't be delivered, click here for the track and trade code..... only it wasn't a parcel:(

Wow Loes! You can't be too careful. It's a shame that things like that happen. I hope it did not hurt anything.

No I was in luck, I was saved by someone hitting the doorbell, before I clicked something, then I apped my husband, to fetch the parcel, and the post office told him it was a scam, so my husband called me right away, DON'T click any link!

Wow Loes, What a blessing! I am glad it all worked out ok.

Thanks. There are so many of these attempts now. Its good to be cautious about everything. I do NO business over the phone.

Good idea jrjec. In the past, I used to be able to pick and choose; however now it is more difficult.
