Two more rules

Two more rules for writing a good article that people will want to read.
1. Don't make yourself the hero or center of attention of your article. There is a story I think maybe from Aesop's fables about the young man who fell in love with the reflection of himself in a still pool of water. I can't remember his name right now.
No one wants to read anything from an arrogant snob so don' t be an arrogant snob when you write. Don't make yourself the hero of your story. OK to put yourself down some but never right to elevate yourself no matter how great you think you are.

After I write an article and I have done the editing and spell check and grammar check. I will re-read the article several times. If I find myself to be the hero of my article, I will rapidly go to the bottom where it says "delete this draft" and hit the delete button and delete the whole article as fast as I can. "What rubbish!" I say to myself. "Glad nobody is going to see this trash!".
2. Don't write negatively. People don't want to read your negative thoughts. They get enough dismal thoughts every day that would choke a horse even if he could read.them...(the negative thoughts.)
If I have not written positively I will again trash the entire article and say "What rubbish!" and go and play on my Pulmonica a happy tune like "Beans in my Ears."
