Getting Some Initial Traffic
Thanks to the great training here at wealthy affiliate, I have found a good source to get some initial traffic for your website. Question and Answer boards.
You can try out the well established boards with some hope that you'll have a mediocre chance at best, but I recommend using the less known Q & A sites to start with.
This will help you build a trusting rep, which, is key to being able to get traffic and let alone make any money with your website. This also will give you time to become an authority in your niche and if the Q & A site grows, you'll already be established on it.
Also have a broader audience to reach. Instead of just trying to reach people in just your native language, you can use a translator to type in various others to reach a broader target audience.
Everyone already knows about social media. I have found the best way to get any results from that is to pose a question yourself to your friends and not just run straight promotions. You can also use facebook's tool to create a page dedicated to your website and then recommend it to others or use facebooks advertising program, which, cost some money as well.
PPC advertising is a great source, but I do not recommend you use this until your site is fully built out. These campaigns can become very costly and if you get are click throughs without enough conversions, you'll only be losing money.
These are just some base ideas that I've been using and have seen a small increase in traffic. I still have lots of content to add to my site, but my main focus is getting them to see my WA review for now.
