Ok! I am Lost!
I have been creating new posts for my website allaboutfarmlife.com. I have it all screwed up!
I have created pages about different topics, instead of deleting the page everytime I wanted to add content to a different topic I started creating posts with the intention of assigning them to a particular category. Well it is not working out that way! I have posts about one topic in the opposite category and I cant figure out what I am doing wrong. I have studied into wordpress info but seems to just confuse me more .I wanted these category's in the sidebar on homepage. I hope you can make sense of my explanation and problem.

Maybe I can help. So, typically for most of your content you are going to want to create "Posts" not "Pages." Whenever you have an update, you can just write a new post and it will show on your site in chronological order. Posts can then be organized into specific categories using the check box on the right hand side of the post edit page.
"Pages" are best used for "static" content, meaning content that doesn't really change. For example; maybe your Home page, contact us page, or an about us page.

You can change what appears on your sidebar by mousing over Appearance then clicking Widgets. Depending on the theme you chose, you should have an item that says Content Sidebar. Click the little arrow on the right hand side of it to drop the menu down. Then you can drag your Recent Posts tab into it. Make SURE click the save button appears when you make changes to it. Don't forget you can reassign the categories with Quick Edit if you want to move them.
