Knowledge and Wisdom.

Knowledge is a wonderful thing and the discovery of new bits of knowledge can be very fulfilling, even somewhat exciting as it can spur us on to dig deeper. I remember spending a lot of time in the library when I was attending seminary and having plenty of "a-ha" moments. In those times it did not matter that I had burned up many hours reaching that instant of learning. The end result was worth the trek.

Learning is a life-long activity and the truth is that none of us know it all plus we continue accumulating knowledge. However, it is good to recognize those who are more advanced than us in a given field and to pay attention to what they have to say. But more than just the facts and figures it is fruitful to discover the coupling of wisdom with knowledge. Those who possess these two attributes are truly a treasure.

Wisdom is simply knowing what to do with that which has been learned. It is practical application and that is something I am most enjoying here at Wealthy Affiliate. I've read some posts from others that clearly indicate that they know what they are doing. That's a great treasure to draw on and I'm truly thankful for it.

However, there is a common enemy to both knowledge and wisdom and that is pride. It has been said that pride goes before a fall and that is true. If we ever get saturated with our own importance it will be seen by others and our credibility will diminish. So one more ingredient is needed for success....humility.

To possess knowledge and wisdom and to be appreciated by others is a wonderful thing. To know how to handle accolades with humility is beautiful to see and only raises appreciation in the eyes of others.
