What To Do If Content Isn't Coming

If you're not working on your site, it is essential that you work on your site.

What Do I Mean By This?

We've all experienced this at some point in our WA journey, I'm getting it right now.

I have days where content comes into my mind so fast, I seriously can't keep up with it, then other days, I can't think what to write and I can't be bothered to think about what to write.

Even though being in the MMO niche, it's very true that Kyle says there's enough keywords out there that you could hire a team to write around the clock and still have a million things to write about.

So, today, at least I'm NOT writing on my site, BUT I'm still writing for my site and there's plenty of ways this can be done.

Here's 10 things that you could do to create exposure:

  • Be active in the community here, you leave a digital footprint on every action
  • Answer Questions in ANY classroom (only if you know the answer)
  • Comment on member's community posts.
  • Writing progress WA posts yourself.
  • Offering comments to websites.
  • Follow others in your niche on Twitter
  • RT other Tweets
  • Comment on posts in LinkedIn, especIally ones with high engagement
  • Ask to connect with others on LinkedIn
  • Follow more people on G+

Personally, I'm more active on LinkedIn than other platform. If you wish to connect:

Take a break,
watch the cat for a while,
talk to my Son
Read a book - totally outside of the area I am writing about!

You're exactly right, there are definitely other things that can be done if you can't seem to get new content added to your site. I personally like to offer comments when I can and try to do research in my niche.

I find that content comes in waves. If I don't have the time to write out the posts, I write a title, or take a few notes on the subject or subjects. Then when I hit a dry spell; I go back and read my titles or notes to get the creative juices flowing again. Also I get ideas from things in everyday life and adjust them to be useful on my site. Everything you do can potentially give you an idea for a post, so think about WA while you are doing other things. Thought provoking post. Thank you, Dave. :)

Dave - Good stuff. Excellent list of things to do to stay active.

Thanks Dave for this great list. Very useful!

Great list, Dave. I also go to Pinterest and find ideas for post in their search menu...alphabet soup.

I'm very much a newbie on Pinterest because the training here for it by Kyle is very out of date so I've ended up just playing around with it myself and following a few dozen people and boards.

I've just played around with it myself and working at putting together some graphics for my posts. Something else to learn I guess. :)

Thank you. Go back into your social media accounts and answer outstanding contacts and add comments, wish happy birthday, congratulate.

Wishing Happy Birthday is a good one, especially on LinkedIn.
This simple comment can generate engagement quite easily.

Thanks for this.

You're welcome, hope it helps.

Excellent list that keeps your skills honed when you are stuck for content. Like it!

A typewriter? What's one of those? lol
Actually, I think that belonged on @Loes post.

I think this quote answers the question in your headline, doesn't it?

PS. Who's Loes?

Cheers :)
