Problem And Solution
I was having a conversation with a friend recently, and he said that there are two questions that guide him in life. The first is, “What are you contributing in this world?”
He said that if the answer is “nothing much”, then he won’t be missed at all when he dies.
The second question he likes to ask is, “Are you part of the problem, or are you part of the solution?” And this is something that keeps him in check whenever he faces difficulties. It’s also the question he asks his team when they come to him with problems and challenges.
Whenever we encounter a problem and we feel like something is unfair or difficult, we have to remind ourselves that what happened has already happened. And now, moving forward, we just have to ask ourselves question #2 - “Am I part of the problem? Or do I want to be part of the solution?”
It’s so simple, but it really reminds us that if we complain and rant and cry over spilt milk or lash out in anger… we’re really just part of the problem.
are you part of the solution?"
Being part of the solution means taking the actions needed to address the problem, to find a way to solve it. And if not, to just move forward in the most positive manner.
I love both these questions because they serve as a great reminder of what’s most important in life. I want to live a life where I am contributing to the world instead of taking away from the world. I want my presence to be an addition, not a subtraction. I want to give and not just continuously take.
All of these sounds wonderful, but they’re also easy to forget in this fast paced world we live in. We get so used to our comforts. We get so used to the people we love. Hi, Darren. Two great questions to live by. The WA platform is a perfect platform to live out the two questions.
We make a difference to other people by paying it forward and we are part of the solution by helping where we can.
Thanks for a great post.
Hennie

Hahaha...I'm reading this at just the right time.
I'll admit it, I was having a bit of a pity party about a few things going on in my life. Nothing traumatic, but challenging.
What helped me to snap out of it bit was not so much a question, but acceptance. Accepting that the world owes me nothing! Squat! I receive in proportion to my efforts, so if my efforts are minimal, I should not expect to receive great rewards.
