My website after 4 months
Recently, I spend a lot more time on my website than before. Maybe even too much. For now there is no result but, probably it is too early for this.
I will list the things I consider as my progress:
1. Start using Yoast SEO
I particularly like the options Readability analysis and Focus Keyphrase. Here are my result by vpmudev https://premium.wpmudev.org/
It look to me pretty OK. They found 4 seriuos errors on my site:
a) Leverage browser caching. Setting an expiry date or a maximum age in the HTTP headers for static resources instructs the browser to load previously downloaded resources
from local disk rather than over the network.
b) Prioritize visible content. Your page requires additional network round trips to render the above-the-fold content. For best performance, reduce the amount of HTML needed to render above-the-fold content.
c) URL Structure: keywords. We could not detect any keywords in your URL. Having the right keywords in your URL can increase your search click-through rate.
d) Default Admin User. Default first WordPress username 'admin' is still used
I don't know what does it mean, but I hope to get some help.
2. Start using Catch Base theme
I am delighted with the options Promotion Headline Text and Featured Content. Also, you can choose a layout for every page. I appreciate and ease the deal with Social Links.
3. I learned how to share post from my website to Social media
4. I learned how to create custom sidebars and how to use it.
5. I'm present and active onFacebook, Twiteer, Pinterest and Linkedin.
6. Google Adsense is working on my site.
Probably there are a lot of other things I've learned. At one time my head was full of information and I thought what the hell I need that in my old age, but I overcame that situation.
I am just finishing OEC lv4 4 lesson 7/10. Generaly have one objection: video lessons are too old i hard to follow.
Have a nice day.
