4 Celebrations At Once!
This Could Not Have Come At A Better Time!
On Sunday, I received my 6 Month Badge.
I never work on Sundays so i glanced at it and then didn't really think much about it.
Didn't seem like that big of a deal.
My progress has been at a standstill because one of my websites is in the beauty niche and...well it's quite competitive.
There's nothing quite like doing research for a post, only to find that there are many talented people out there doing something similar!
Admittedly, I was a little intimidated.
I've been getting a station set up so that I am able to film beauty tutorials and take well-lit pictures of makeup, and it has taken time. I'm not very patient :)
Nevertheless, I was pushing forward (only publishing an average of two posts a week, though).
So, when I received my badge notice I wasn't over-the-moon.
But then, on Monday, I noticed that I had reached 100 comments on my beauty niche website, and had surpassed 100,000 words written.
Monday evening, I realized that one of my Pins on Pinterest had gone viral and had brought a significant amount of traffic to my website.
Then my attitude shifted a little, needless to say :)
Everyday Is Progress!
I have spent every evening watching beauty tutorials, jotting down every single thing I notice that I might want to add or avoid in my blog posts and videos.
I've been mixing up my makeup routines and adding new colors.
I have completely rearranged my bedroom to accommodate a place that will work for taking quality pictures.
Turns out, all I needed was a little motivation and a little push from WA.
Reaching 6 months IS A BIG DEAL because so many people quit before they really give themselves a chance to succeed.
Instead of getting caught in the comparison trap with all the beautiful people in the beauty niche, I've come to the conclusion that I'm on my way there, and everyday is a step in the right direction as long as I'm stepping!
Sometimes you've got to make or find your own motivation, and that's what i intend to do!
Thanks to everyone who is so inspiring and helpful in the WA community!
Xoxo,
-Darci

I think those who are good within this niche develop a really loyal following, I use to follow two sisters think they were called Pixie Woo :) I never looked anywhere else, always went to their You Tube and site, bought products etc..
You will carve out your own following I'm sure, my best wishes on your continued success.
Thank you so much!
I agree, as I follow several gurus loyally! Everybody has their favorites!

Hi there
Beauty niche can be competitive but doable although I must admit just like you, I sometimes wish I had done more research before starting a beauty niche website.
Keep working it will get better as you get more content
Thank you!
It's nice to hear from a fellow beauty blogger!
I think if it is what we are most passionate about, we will definitely make it, even though the competition is high.
Have a blessed day!
