How do I build a WordPress website?

I am planning out a really great post about how to build a website in WordPress, and wanted to ask you guys and girls what most people want to know about this topic.
I'm going to include lots of pictures that explain what tabs to click etc. but what type of headers would really indulge readers? What type of headers will make people want to read until the end?
Tell me what you think is an essential part of making a detailed "how to" guide! I'm stoked to hear what you come up with :)

Hey there Dan,
It's a great idea to create your post and I'm really excited and looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
I would struggle to put it all in one post if I was you, I'm already up to day 14 - here's Day 1 of my how to build a WordPress website project: Day 1 - Learn How to Build a Website Yourself in Wordpress 2017 I think starting with anything 'how to' is a perfect start for a post, and it will be interesting to see what others here on WA think!

Thanks Jaqueline! I want to make a monster of a post so that it will naturally attract lots of back links and shares. I believe a long, quality post is the key to getting a really good first page ranking!

Yeah I get where you're coming from but I'm not sure if most people would read a monster post.
I feel most people like their information in small chunks which is why I think the training here at WA works so well.
I hope you get others checking out your post here as it's an interesting question into how people would want to learn what you're offering.
Maybe you could look at creating your posts as a Part 1, 2 and 3?
I'll keep an eye on your post here, hopefully others will come along and make a helpful comment for you.

I'm just going by what Neil Patel and Brian Dean say about SEO. Neil ranks #1 for the term "online marketing" because of a huge 30,000 word guide to online marketing, and Brian swears by writing long captivating posts.
I totally agree that shorter posts are way nicer to read, but I wonder if Google favors long, information rich posts. Oh the world of SEO is just so mysterious and interesting lol.
I definitely want to include a table of contents to allow readers to jump to what they want to read. Perhaps this will please readers and Google?

Go for it Dan, I still really want to see what you come up with and you just never know for how many keywords that post would rank - I do like the idea of a table of contents, you would be hopefully pleasing both your audience AND Google!
