What the hell Google Plus
I feel like whining. I need help with google plus. I set up my account, brand new to it. I go to under "links" to add my website to "contributor to" and it is not freaking there!!! What the hell?
I just spent a good hour on shared screen with Trialynn who can confirm that I am doing everything correctly and it just does not exist on my page. HELP ME PLEASE!!
Conversely, I tried to add that little coded link G+ gives me to put in my blog, I successfully add a side menu (very proud of myself for figuring that one out) and the freaking LINK G+ (G-) gives me takes the user to an ERROR SCREEN!!!!
This has got to be because of mercury retrograde but I am freaking annoyed I need help people waaahhh waaahhh waaahhh it's valentines day and all I want is for this sh*t to work :-(
Here is my G+ page https://plus.google.com/b/100468066140423294858/100468066140423294858/about
UPDATE!
I was able to find the google plus spot in the All in one SEO pack on my blog and that fixed it so that my picture shows up. Thanks Natheniell for your help on writing that code. That successfully links my blog to my G+ account. However, I still cannot find the "contributor to" under links on my page. Anyone? Bueller?

Where are you adding your G+ link?
Are you adding ?rel=author to the end
Did you remove the "about" at the end of your URL (and probably the "b" as well?
I just clicked your link, and it works fine. So if it's taking them to an error, it sounds like maybe the html link you created is "special".
This is what the code looks like that I have been copying into wordpress
Google+
edit:
< a href="https://plus.google.com/100468066140423294858" rel="publisher">Google+ (except no spaces btwn the first and last a and </> because if I don't do that here it just looks like Google+)
and then when I added the ?rel=author it looked like this Google+?rel=author except that Google+ was underlined as a link
but then the flipping link took us to a DNS yahoo error page
< a href="https://plus.google.com/100468066140423294858 ?rel=author">Google+
There you go bro...oh, so close! :)
BTW no space between 8 and ? because we can't post links with question marks in them (they usually denote affiliate links).
Wait but where am I supposed to publish this link on my wordpress? I see the logic of what you have done and I highly appreciate you sis ;-)
Edit: hang on Ima try your link in the side menu and see if it works I'll report back if it does
Okay, I am going to leave it there for you to see what I mean:
Here is my website: www.thewordswriteme.com and if you go to the right side you will see how I have added in a menu for google plus. I put in the code you gave me, subtracting the spaces between the first < and last > and between the 8 and the ? and now go click that link and please tell me if you have a yahoo search page because I do

Well, there's a couple things happening.
1) The link from your original post is different from the one in your second response
2) You still didn't remove the /about part
3) Question, is this your personal profile or business page?
I put the link you gave me in and I just double checked it there is no about in that code.
The link in my original post is just a link to my G+ page in case anyone wanted to check it out. The second link I gave is the one G+ gives me to put in my blog
This is an affiliate blog I have been working on, so business I guess but it's still in progress
I just tried the code you edited for me again. I am at a loss :-(
Almost there. Your idea is right, the code is wrong :) I just sent you a PM
